...barbie every little girl seems to love barbie even if you try to make them hate her for some unknown reason little girls have a barbie phase no matter how short lived. swan lake by barbie is different to what you might expect she manages to ruin it for adults and children are in grossed letting them learn the swan lake tale while pushing barbie products i watched this once and managed to get all the way through it but it is watched a lot by the little girls i bought it for well the youngest now as the older on is past barbie now but still a very watched DVD if you put this on make sure it is when you can leave them to it otherwise when they ask for it on again you may pretend it is broken... ...not to watch in 3D (I found it hurt my eyes after a while) there is normal view. *There is a game which your little girl can play too, called Grooming Brietta, this is a simple game which any little girl will love, you click on the tail styles and mane styles you want to give Brietta with your remote control. My little girl loves doing this almost as much as she wants to watch the movie. *There is a music video of the theme tune called "Hope Has Wings" by Brie Larson, And again my little girl dances around the room like a little princess when she plays this. *There is also trailer previews of other Barbie DVD's on this, including Barbie "Princess collection", Barbie "Fairytopia", Barbie " Fairytopia Mermaidia" and The Barbie Diaries. *Also at the end of the main film there is a short bit that is supposed to be cuts out of the film....like Annika... Advantages: Good animation
Disadvantages: Not a lot of dancing

...This is the story of Tchaikovsky's 'The Nutcracker' featuring Barbie as the lead character. The makers have done a good job telling the story in a way that young children can understand. The story is a classic and the music is excellent. The animation is good but not on a par with other recent animated films. I bought this DVD for my two young nieces who are learning ballet and are huge Barbie fans. Having bought this DVD in large part because of the descriptions of the dancing on the case I was very disappointed by the small amount of dancing that is actually in the film. The dancing scenes that there are look attractive but they are very brief and the majority of the story is not told to music. I would recommend this DVD to true Barbie fans but anyone else may not enjoy it. Also, although my older niece was all right with the film... Read review
