It all starts when Joe Blake (Bruce Willis) steals a cement truck inside a prison while Terry Collins (Billy Bob Thornton) jumps in the passenger seat! They both break through the prison gates! and are free at last!
Terry Collins, a very worried man, which always thinks hes sick, or dying of something starts to plan what they are going to need! and top of the list was money.....So Joe finds the nearest bank and robs it using a magic marker by sticking it behind the guards head, and asking the guard for his gun! the guard assuming its a gun, hands over his own gun. They then steal the money and getaway!
The front man....Harvey Pollard (Troy Garity) which is a man who loves creating his own stunts! he is then hired by Joe Blake to be there front man! who organises where Joe, and Terry stay in between bank robberies, and also provides them with food etc etc. They then organise there next big hit! By planning on staying at the bank managers house overnight, and then going to the bank at the morning to steal all the money.
After this hit they split up for a couple of weeks, and plan to meet up several weeks later, as Terry is trying to go to the meeting point, his car breaks down. So he tries to steal Kate Wheelers (Cate Blanchett) car but sadly fails as Kate is having some sort of break down in her life! Anyway as it continues Kate ends up joining them as she plays with Joes and Terrys hearts.
They plan to set up there own business in a different country using the money they have stolen. So they carry on staying at bank managers homes for a night then robbing the bank the following morning. But after a silly move by the front man they almost get caught by the police! So they decide they no longer need him, as they have kate!
Then Joe finds Terry and Kate one night in the local pub! and they both end up fighting, Kate cant stand this and walks away leaving both of them.
Joe and Terry then work out there one last big score! which will get them enough money and will also get the police off there backs! so they phone Kate and the front man for help! Joe and Terry end up in the bank pointing guns at each other with police surrounding the bank.....how do they get out??
They end up shooting each other, and what it looks like they both die, but who is in the ambulance....the front man! who has made the best stunt ever! in making Joe and Terry look like they killed each other when really they are both still alive, and waiting for the next part of their plan......The front man and his girlfriend playing doctors put Joe and Terry in bodybags and take them away! but the front man has one last stunt....blowing up the ambulance making it look like an accident, with no remands of either the doctors or Joe and Terry.....

RunTime: 1hour 58mins
Out of 10: I would easily say this is a good and solid 9.5! alot of action, a bit of romance, and a very good storyline! This is truely another great film starring Bruce Willis!
I would recommend this to any action freaks out there! or even people who love a good storyline! Definatly one for the collection!
Advantages: Alot of action! has a very well known star! Bruce Willis! has loads of extras on the dvd! loads of car action including chases!
Advantages: Gritty storytelling Disadvantages: Possibly excessive sexual violence
girl by her 30 something husband, to the forced sexual violation by a line of men and scenes of extreme humiliation in front of a whole village and scenes of violence when our ?heroine? exacts her brutal revenge with her gang of bandits on those she felt wronged her. I was shocked into silence when watching this on DVD and my husband who had previously seen this film told me of some of the things that took place in India when the film was first made and released in 1994. The film is FULL of extremely foul language and I MEAN extremely foul - I found myself cringeing often at the swearing and from the first scenes in the film when we see Phoolan bathing in the river when she?s told her husband to be has arrived; we hear the most shocking expletives which would make the average grown up cringe! I have to say this is THE most shocking Hindi ...

Ciao members have rated this review on average: very helpful Review of Bandit Queen (DVD)
Advantages: Sit back take a nostalgic journey back to the 80's -remeber your old bmx (if you had one) Disadvantages: very dated ,and some people may not be able to take it as it is ....
Baby faced Nicole Kidman was just 17 years old when she played the role of JUDY in BMX Bandits.
BMX Bandits was released in 1983 and seeing as I was a child of the 80's Bmx's were a part of my very own childhood as was probably true for most kids growing up in the 80's.
So the main reason for me buying this movie ,now, 26 years on from its release, was to take myself back to my childhood and then see if it was as good as I could remember!
There was something new for me personally first off, because, I actually got to see the opening credits for the first time ever! when I watched the DVD . I mention this because, way back when, in the 80's or early 90's my brother videoed BMX BANDITS off the telly, and he managed to miss the opening credits !
So the opening credits show bmx ers PJ and Goose riding around in all the BMX ...
Advantages: An enduring and interesting story. Good effects. Disadvantages: Maybe not suitable for young children.
I was flicking through a DVD catalogue at work and I noticed that Time Bandits had been released on DVD as well as video. It reminded me that it had been a while since I had seen this film and I thought I was long overdue for writing an opinion about it. I was also shocked to discover that the film is now 20 years old; am I old enough to remember a film that is that old and happy to see that it is still watchable today. I have only seen it on television, so it is on the film in general that this opinion is based.
Time Bandits was originally released in 1981 and has a running time of approximately 120 minutes, although I have usually watched it on Channel 4 so the inevitable advert breaks add something to the viewing time. It is a strange film, but one that still gives me enjoyment, even after watching it many times.

DVD Description
Following a spur-of-the-moment escape from an Oregon prison, macho ladies man Joe Blake (Bruce Willis) and sensitive, hypochondriac Terry Collins (Billy Bob Thornton) become the best-known thieves in the country. Deemed "The Sleepover Bandits," Joe and Terry add a twist to conventional bank robberies by taking the bank manager hostage the night before the heist and accompanying him/her to the bank first thing in the morning. With the help of Joe's cousin, Harvey J. Pollard (Troy Garity), a simple, aspiring stuntman, "The Sleepover Bandits" rob their way down to southern California with hopes of making it to Mexico. Joe and Terry's partnership and friendship is tested, however, when they each fall in love with Kate Wheeler (Cate Blanchett), an unhappy, unappreciated housewife who deems herself their hostage and ultimately finds herself attracted to both men. Directed by Barry Levinson (DINER, RAIN MAN, WAG THE DOG), this somewhat quirky comedy features fine performances from Willis, Thornton, and Blanchett and is a nice departure from the average buddy film. Levinson's framing of the story through the reports of a true-crime show is particularly interesting.
