Yes, Bananas in pyjamas! Next in my nieces collection of DVD's, (she is so spoilt! all we had when we were young was a hand me down wooden noah's ark set with half the animals being either widowed, cyclops or having no eyes left at all). Any way, This bananas in pyjamas dvd is aimed at 1 months to 6 year olds. It features all the favourite nursery rhymes including incy wincy spider, little miss muffet and little bow peep. Theres also a good extra section on the dvd.
A classic bunch, B1 and B2 still loved by the youth of today. However i do have issues with thier morals, encouraging children to run around all day in their bed wear - not very socially acceptable in todays world. And does raise the question - what do they wear at night? - normal clothes, a suit and tie, jeans? .... ? one can only wonder!

First part includes all the usual favourites including little bow peep, incy wincy spider, oranges and lemons, and even little boy horner. The entire first half is sing along with all of the words appearing on the screen so that you can sing along. Either with your child or let your child go for it by his/ her self. Colourful words that light up as you go along with the music.
What is also fantastic is the extra section at the end of the DVD which has some unique songs from the banana duo including extravaganza plus 'Knitting Bananas', 'Magic Sack', 'Where's Lulu?', 'Moving Bananas' and 'Beauty Rat'. This ensures the viewer doesn't get bored and gives an original touch to the end of the dvd. Very enjoyable and loved by toddlers.
Visual: Standard banana in pj's - this is the ones where men are dressed up in the big foam yellow fruit costumes not the newer version of B1 and B2 which appear in cartoon versions. A little fussy on the colour blurring but the words are fine and can be easily read and sung along to.
Audio: Very basic and simple piano based music to accompany the rhymes. This is fine for the little ones and my niece loves it, she has obviously never experienced a good night of Paul Van Dyke's Dj 'ing. But then again if she had - what would that imply of her mothers parenting skills .... ?
Overall 4 star rating awarded for this good dvd. Although the graphics are very basic and the audio doesn't exactly pump the bass - one must bare in mind the audience that it is intended. I'm sure all 5 year olds will totally dig the beats, however it leaves something to be desired for us hardcore techno trance lovers! :) Hannah also gives it 4 stars, shes says there could be more pictures..? The first part is also particularly good as it is entirely sing along which is brilliant to develop vocal muscles, and aids in confidence building. Recommended to all toddlers regardless of gender or age.
