Balto/Balto 2 - Wolf Quest DVD

...Today I want to introduce you a movie which my sister-in-law recommended to me... = The story = The story is told by a grandmother who takes a walk with her granddaughter and her dog through a park. There they found a monument of a dog named Balto whose story is the foundation of this cartoon. Baltos half being a wolf is why the sledge dogs have expelled him from the village, but he still dreams about taking part on a sledge-dog-race. This is what the arrogant leading-dog Steel wants to prevent at all costs. Only the doggirl Jenna who belongs to the small girl Rosie does not look down on Balto and handles him as each every dog. However, then the children of the village become so sick that they need urgently the medicine from another place which is not to be reached because of the strong snowfall on one of the usual ways... Advantages: A good quality film for all the family (unless your dad's an animator), the quality is good
Disadvantages: The story is a little weak and cheesy, And it feels rushed.

...This is one of the most least-heard-of-films I have ever known. Done by the same people who were responsible for American tale II. Set in Alaska, the story follows the story of a half wolf, half domestic dog who struggles to be accepted into the world of bob-sleighing, but suffers constant knock-backs from humans and other dogs. The has a friend goose who follows him around and gets into a bit of trouble. There is also a female of the species (of A species anyway) to add some romance. When a bobsleigh team sets out to collect badly needed medical supplies and bring them back to this town, they go missing. Balto goes and finds them and blah-de-blah. The animation is nearly all done by hand, with the occasional computer bit in it (for instance, the falling snow). The quality of animation is very good, the characters are well... Read review

However being the big kid I am I was very eager to see Thunderbirds - The Movie and after being able to eventuallly watching it last night I have to say that I was not in anyway disappointed as when I started to watch it I feared it would be yet another Hollywood let down as so many TV Series to Big Screen sometimes turn out to be.
