recreation of the comedy duo's television format. Unscripted and unrehearsed, the show relies on the improvisational skills of the long-standing partnership, mainly responding to questions put to them from the audience. As might be supposed, the whole thing is a little hit or miss. Too often it descends into idle prattle between the two, much of it based in toilet or sexual humour--not for nothing was the legend "Ladies Beware" emblazoned across the front of the theatre, although the majority of the participating audience members on this video are female. There is much to laugh at though, particularly from Skinner, who proves that he really is one of the best at this sort of off-the-cuff comedy. This is an ideal purchase for fans of the television show and those not put off by the continued swearing and general rudeness, but really not as good as the fantasticFantasy Football.--Phil Udell

Advantages: Energetic display, entertaining. Disadvantages: You must be joking!
surprising as he had just finished starring opposite Jerry Lewis in the acclaimed feature film "Funny Bones" and had finished starring in his own hit TV show "The World of Lee Evans". But despite the sub standard setting he still manages to turn out one hilarious anecdote after the other.
One sketch that really sticks in my memory includes a story in which he asks a person for directions in a busy place. It turns out that the guy is a complete moron and with Lees' visual effects and comic voices a classic sketch is born; I have since then seen this story being told by him in more recent shows such as Wired and Wonderful.
As always he presents himself in a three piece suit, which after thirty minutes is drenched in sweat. Most people will just use the microphone for its original purpose, but in Livefrom the WestEnd as in his other ...
Advantages: Occasional flashes of wit from Skinner Disadvantages: David Baddiel
There is a tendency for much of the TV comedy output these days to be of the spontaneous unscripted variety and Baddiel and SkinnerUnplanned is one such example. The theory is that the comedians are so good and so clever at improvisation that they can make almost anything funny. Now there may be comedians out there that can do that but they are not called Baddiel and Skinner.
Firstly I take exception to the rip off that is the opening sequence. The ‘they said it couldn’t be done’ song. A very similar theme was used by Conan O’Brien when he first started his late night chat show in the USA. Whereas O’Brien proved he could cut the mustard Baddiel and Skinner couldn’t cut soft butter with a hot knife.
Of course I accept that such a way of presenting comedy in this format is going to be a bit hit ...
Advantages: Packed with gags - most of which follow on nicely from a previous one Disadvantages: Some pauses which could be unnecessary.
From the back of the case:-
'A unique chance to experience the irrepressible energy and charm of "Lee Evans LiveFrom The WestEnd"
Straight from starring opposite Jerry Lewis in the acclaimed feature film "Funny Bones" and following his own hit T.V. show - "The World of Lee Evans" - the brightest young star in British comedy performed exclusively for one night only live on stage in London's glittering WestEnd.
The audienceon this magical evening witnessed a show by Lee Evans which had never been seen before and featured the award winning "Bohemian Rhapsody" finale.
It's impossible to resist the high speed sparkle and elastic talent of Lee Evans.
This is the most frenzied and furious hour of comedy you will ever see.'
Ok, This man is a comic genius in my eyes. From the way he leaps and bounds from one gag into ...
