Lowrey (Will Smith - 'Men In Black') and Burnett (Martin Lawrence), Miami's most mismatched cops, are called upon to solve the case before the FBI close their department. Julie (Tea Leoni) is their only lead to the case, but will only speak to Lowrey. As he is not around when she calls, Burnett impersonates his cool, slick partner. A hilarious role reversal begins in order to retain her trust. From then on, it's a race against time as the trio dodge the mob, and retain their charade while putting pressure on every low-life in Miami's underworld to track down their man.

wisecracks and women-talk. The humour and tone is summed up succinctly by the "nah-nah-nah-nah" of "I've Got A Little Something For You" (MN8). Joined for the ride by Diana King, Warren G, KMFDM, 2PAC and plenty more phonetically challenging one-hit wonders, this collection of Rhythmic American Poetry is a perfect snapshot of the mid-90s development of African-Americans' profile in film. It is of course one of those soundtracks that represents songs which appeared for only a few seconds here and there. As such the full-lengths cut time available for Mark Mancina's genre defining score. His four-minute theme can't fail to impress with its savvy interpolation of street rhythm into an irritatingly catchy "hero" motif. Coupled with his score for Speed, this is the theme that launched his career. Overall, here's an album that makes for an ideal workout for your car stereo. --Paul Tonks

This film is pretty old but in my eyes will never be dated. Martin Lawrence and Will Smith have never been better suited to two roles like these. The characters they play are hilarious and the interaction they have with each other makes for a great combination. Very few action films out there manage to get the balance right between the action and the comedy but this film does it perfectly. With Lowrey being the rich cop that drives the fast car, has all the moves and loves the women. His polar opposite is Burnett who is married with kids, neurotic and downright crazy. The pair together are sensational and this film is one of my favourites. I never tire of watching it and the plot is good along with the comedy and one liners following on. The casting of this film is faultless. Captain Howard played by Pantoliano is the perfect seasoning to the dish. He has the right edge for the film and plays the stressed out captain to a tee.
Some of the scenes in the film can be so fast paced and action filled and at the same time so funny. There is a scene at the very end of the film where Burnett has to drive Lowrey’s Porsche. Knowing that Marcus drives ‘like Miss Daisy’, after a thrilling car chase that leaves you wondering who is going to come off worse, Lowrey turns to Burnett and says “Now THAT’S how you drive”. There are countless scenes that bring tears to my eyes including the one where they go to a convenience store and the store clerk goes crazy. The Director of this film, Michael Bay, actually allowed Will Smith and Martin Lawrence to improvise which is why that convenience store scene actually came about.
If you have never seen this film, I would ask that you take the time to watch it. If action and comedy are two genres of film that you like, you can’t go wrong with this film.
There are various extras on this film but depending on what version you brought and in what year they may differ however you may get the following:
Filmographies Commentary Music Video Theatrical Trailer Featurette Documentary

...the Boom and Bang into Bad Boys featurette, SFX featurette, Directors commentary, photo gallery, isolated score, music videos from 69 boyz and diana king, trailers and filmographies.

OVERALL - Bad Boys is comedically, one of the best films around in my opinion. Action wise it can be a little short but as an all ... ...and Lawrence is the main reason for watching and enjoying, the action and storyline becomes secondary. Right from the start you get an idea of what these two guys are like and it continues to succeed all the way through. If you liked this its worth checking out the sequel which had a higher budget but in my eyes was lacking in comedy between the two. Enjoy, live the dream. ...

Outline
This is a film about two Miami cops, Mike Lowry (Will Smith) and Marcus Burnett (Martin Lawrence). They are members of the drugs squad for Miami Police Department. Mike (Will Smith) is a single, rich boy who always gets the ladies and thinks ... ...is funny cool, cockey and pretty much invincible. Marcus (Martin Lawrence) is a family man with a wife and kids, and does the job to earn a wage to keep his family, he brings a sense of responsibility to the partnership. That said he is still funny, cockey and doesn't take any messing when it comes to taking out criminals. It is a very strange partnership but I think it works very well.

...barely gotten off the mark; Bad Boys, however, united Will Smith (in his breakout performance) and Martin Lawrence as the two mismatched cops, in amidst of the team's soon-to-be-trademark explosion; the film became an instant hit.
If you've already seen the much more over the top (and far superior) sequel then you'll think the action in Bad Boys is much paler in comparison. Plot wise, Detectives Mike Lowrey (Smith) and Marcus Burnett (Lawrence) have to protect a murder witness (Tea Leoni), and find the big bad foreigner responsible- oh and he also happens to be the one that robbed the Police Station's $100 million worth of heroin. DVD Description
Marcus Burnett (Martin Lawrence) is a happily married family man. Mike Lowrey (Will Smith) is a smooth-talking, freewheeling bachelor. Both are cops in the narcotics division of the Miami police department. When $100 million dollars worth of seized heroin is stolen from their police station, the mismatched duo are forced to switch identities to placate the only witness (Tea Leoni) who can lead them to the drug lord responsible and save their jobs before the FBI closes them down. This explosion-heavy, chase-filled, gun-smoking action comedy is directed by Michael Bay (ARMAGEDDON, PEARL HARBOR) and showcases comedic odd-couple-style bantering between the aptly paired Smith and Lawrence.
