Released in 1990 this last in the trilogy of time travelling adventures where sanity seems to have left the planet.**BRIEF PLOT**
The opening of this movie is sort of confusing as we see Marty McFly, (played by Michael J Fox) trapped in 1955, after seeing the Doc and the flying DeLorean disappear…but just after his other self was sent back to 1985 by The Doc, Doctor Emmitt Brown, (played by Christopher Lloyd), via a bolt of lightening and the DeLorean… (are you with me so far..?)… right… Marty, (the recent one..?) receives a letter from the Doc, only the letter is dated from 1885, creating much confusion and many dilemmas for Marty and the totally bewildered Doctor who has just seen Marty and the DeLorean disappear in a puff of smoke after being struck by a controlled lightening strike… (still with me then…???)
So, now Marty and the Doc have to locate the DeLorean, which the 1885 Doc had hidden for the 1955 Doc and Marty to find… with instructions to use it to get Marty back to 1985 so as not to mess the 'space-time continuum' up anymore… Only Marty and the 1955 Doc discover something that makes them decide to go back in time to 1885 and rescue the Doc from someone called Bufford Tannen, or Mad dog, (played by Thomas F. Wilson), bringing him back to 1985... (still with me then..?)
Enter Marty McFly in 1885...on his rescue mission to save the Doc, only to discover that the 1885 Doc has really settled into his new life and is disappointed at Marty coming back to find him. The movie is then completely turned into a western type… and like all the previous Back to the Future sagas Marty is soon bumping into his ancestors, this time it is his great -great grandparents in Hill valley who have just arrive in the country.
So Marty… forced to think of an appropriate name for his new life in the wild west and coming up with the first cowboy type name he can think of… on protecting the Doc soon finds himself in more trouble than he bargained for and it is not too long before the pair begin to change the future with there interference, especially later on in the movie when they encounter Clara Clayton, (played by Mary Steenburgen), a helpless damsel in distress whose life should have taken a completely different turn until the Doc and Marty appear on the scene, only for the Doc to become smitten by her.
Then when Marty meets Mad Dog, the small towns outlaw and his posse, who begin to terrorise the Doc and his new found friend he soon realises that he is running out of time to get the doctor back to the future… only the DeLorean is out of fuel so they have to find another way of getting the car to get to its 88 miles per hour to achieve time travel…and the Doc has a plan… involving a train, some tube like explosive concoctions made by the Doctor and a very long but unfinished railway track.
** IN CONCLUSION **
Another great movie in the McFly series of time travelling adventures… although a little confusing if you haven't yet seen any of the others, but not essential to watch them in order it does help…
The beginning and the end coincide with the previous movies, but they don't do anything to confuse or spoil this brilliantly comical poke at the western movies… with an excellent story line to boot. Fox and Lloyd do there usually perfect stuff, bringing so much humour into the movie, especially Lloyd with his mad looking white hair and almost lunatic expressions… pure genius from the insane actor once again.
The story is a simple one, once you get passed the confusion regarding whose who and how they got there, with action more or less right from the start. The characters are again the same old faces only with different names, Biff is Buff and Strickland is the town Marshall instead of the principal of the 1955 school..? (don't worry, it's not as confusing as it sounds…) Some of the scenes are classics as Marty uses his knowledge of the future to survive life in the 1885, like his improvised bullet proof chest and his accidental creation of the soon to be very popular Frisbee…
The ending does have a little bit of a twist, but haven't they all, leaving the possibility of maybe another Back to the Future Movie on the books… (although Fox did make these three movies simultaneously as not to be seen as aging during each one so a fourth one is very unlikely at this stage)…
* Would I recommend this..?
Yes I certainly would. If you enjoyed the first two B.T.T.F. movies then this one will defiantly please you as this does seem to be the best out of he three for action/ entertainment/ comedy and shear time travel madness, giving nearly two hours of pure family fun.
You can get a copy of this movie from amazon for less than £7.00... Or even the entire three movies for less than £18.00 (which consists of 4 discs apparently)* Other characters
Lea Thompson as Maggie McFly/Lorraine Baines McFly Jeffrey Weissman as George McFly James Tolken as Marshall James Strickland Burton Gilliam as the colt salesman And ZZ Top as the dance band.
Advantages: Old west perspective, Good continuity Disadvantages: Don't like Doc staying in 1885
Back to the Future Part III is an good ending to the trilogy. It was made in 1990, 4 years after the first one and immediately after the second one. The movie is mainly about tying up loose ends but included an interesting storyline on its own. --- the BASICS --- Back to the Future Part III is a science fiction film about time travelling, starring Michael Fox (Marty) and Christopher Lloyd (Doc) as the 2 main lead characters and directed by Robert ... ...was about to take Marty back "home" to 1985 when he was struck by lightning, sending Doc and the Delorean back to 1885. --- the PLOT --- Everything went well in Doc and Marty's little adventure in 1955. They got the book, burnt it and the future (i.e. 1985) is made normal again (at least normal for Marty - not so much for the antagonist Biff!). When there were about to go back however Doc's Delorean was struck by lightning (remember Part I?) and ...

...hanger at the end of Back to the future 2 with Marty stuck in the past and the Doc even further back surely there is no way of rescue. Ah ha that is advantage of being in the past because there is already a doc there and when Marty goes to see him the movie ends giving us a shred of hope for the older doc.
In this gripping 3rd film of the trilogy promising the end of the series it puts us on the edge of our seats with much suspense and thrills. ... ...way of getting the vehicle back up to 88 mile an hour.
Unlike many movie serieses such as the matrix or Harry Potter Back to the Future was lucky that they had no deaths while filming, and all the actors were commited to making all three movies. Therefore all the original actors remain in the series throughout which can sometimes make people uninterested. The actors themselves are still as good a quality as they were in the first film.
The graphics ...

that he could use to bet on back in 1985 and make a fortune. Somehow, enemy of Marty, Biff Tannen, gets hold of it and travels in the time-machine backto 1955 and gives it to himself (obviously a teenager then). When Marty gets backto 1985 everything has drastically changed, Biff has married his mother and has made his fortune from using the almanac. So, Marty then needs to go backto 1955 to retrieve the almanac and stop Biff from ever receiving it!
A really clever sequel to the first one, where instead of a skateboard, Marty has a hoverboard. Michael J Fox plays himself in 1985, himself in 2015, aswell as his daughter and son of the future. Once again a fantastic film!
BACKTO THE FUTUREIII
