Advantages: Looks good, sexy and is very entertaining Disadvantages: A touch by it's sell by date now, but only a touch
..."Batman" was created by Bob Kane in the 1930's and has been a success ever since, being made into movies, television shows and various animations. But I think that the Dark Knight is best portrayed in this movie.
"Beetlejuice" director Tim Burton re-employs Michael Keaton to take the lead role, and neither lets the side down. Kim Basinger does her job and looks attractive but is never challenged. The supporting cast are enjoyable with people such as Michael Gough, Robert Wuhl, Billy Dee Williams and Jack Palance. But it is the dark comic portrayal of The Joker by Jack Nicholson that steals the show.
With a very dark a gothic look and feel to the new-look caped crusader, "Batman" triumphs in every way. Perhaps a little dated now, but by no means bad, this is by far the best edition to the series....

...This film has been around for over a decade and I can still remember the very difficult transition from the light, family orientated TV series to what was a very dark and powerful film.
The portrayal is dark, mysterious, and often disturbing, particularly in the wonderful performance by Jack Nicholson - a renowed master of the chiller.
Thanks for this conversion to big screen must be given to the films director (a legend in his own right) Tim Burton, who also created such films as Beetlejuice and the more recent Sleepy Hollow.

Advantages: Continues the story of part 1.... Disadvantages: ... but do we really need a sequel?
...How do you follow up one of the best debuts in the horror genre? Ring is the best horror movies to come out in years, so following it up was always going to be a tall order for director Nakato Hideo.
His solution was simple - continue the story where Ring left off, inject a dose of big budget gloss and set out to answer all those unanswered questions from the first movie. So what we get is the body of Sadako now being put to autopsy where it now transpires that she had died only recently and had therefore been in the well ALIVE for thirty years! Brrr, no wonder she's ticked off! Reiko and sone Ruichi from part one have disapeared, so it falls to another reporter, Mai Takayama, to get on their scent to unravel the mystery of Sadako and that fateful video. Naturally, Sadako is not ready to rest in peace just yet...
90 minutes later...
