Oh when the Antz.....
Review of Antz DVD by Maxinefowkes

Advantages: Great film with lots of funny parts
Disadvantages: Not a very long film

...Antz is a brilliant film about an ant that is not happy living in the colony. He gets involved with the pricess and falls in love. After this he decides to swap with his friend for a day and be a soldier ant. During this he is sent into battle by a treacherous ant that wants to take over the colony. All of the ants are killed apart from our hero. He returns to the colony and is a hero. He is taken in front of the queen and recognised by the princess. He is going to be in trouble for making out he is a solidier ant so he kidnaps the princess and leaves the colony. Outside the colony he goes looking for Utopia, ant heaven. He manages to find this with the princess, but to me and you it is a rubbish bin with it's surroundings, but to an ant it is heaven. The princess is captured and returned to the colony where she discovers... Read review

The princess diaries/ princess diaries 2.
Review of The Princess Diaries / The Princess Diaries 2 - Royal Engagement DVD by morgan0786

Advantages: Fairytale story of poor to princess, every girls dream, also good comedy value
Disadvantages: seem to have heard the story line before, very similar to all other modern cinderella stories.

...The first movie begins very well, showing a young girl who wishes to have it all, as usual. The story line is somewhat let down by her never knowing her father or that he was a prince and has recently died meaning that she was next in line to the throne of Genovia. This is of course slightly far fetched for us adults but they had to get her to turn into a princess some how and i'm sure children would love the idea, and will soon be asking if they were by any chance adopted! The comical story line in actually trying to get her to behave like a princess is sweetly thrilling. In this film the young girl (Mia) goes through it all, heart ache, falling out with her best friends, falling out and reuniting with her mother and attempting to become a princess. There was a lovley feel good factor to this film and one of my most favourite cinderella... Read review
