redundant shtick, juvenile scatology, and
pop-cultural spoofery. All is forgiven when the

Myers -returning here as randy Brit spy Austin,
his nemesis Dr. Evil, the bloated Scottish
henchman Fat Bastard, and new Dutch disco-villain
Goldmember - thrives by favouring comedic chaos
over coherent plotting. Once they've tossed Austin
into the disco fever of 1975 (where he's sent to
rescue his father, gamely played by Michael
Caine), Myers and director Jay Roach seem vaguely
adrift with old and new characters, including
Verne Troyer's Mini-Me and pop star Beyoncé

Review of Austin Powers - International Man Of Mystery DVD by  Nuttytart_2kuk

Advantages: too many to write them all
Disadvantages: none - its too shagadelic

...All my life i have loved to watch films. When i first saw Austin Powers i was 100% impressed. Its about a shagadelic swinger who is frozen for 30 years and then has to come back to fight Doctor Evil. Its really funny and i guarantee you will never stop laughing. The main star is Mike Myers although there are many other popular actors in it. Austin has to adjust to todays world, but will he do it? Find out.. and see all those hilarious scenes as Austin begs for sex! Yeah baby yeah... Read review

Review of Austin Powers - International Man Of Mystery DVD by  diceman

Advantages: Mike Myers
Disadvantages: Liz Hurley

...Painfully funny in parts, just painful in others and with one of the coolest soundtracks in decades, Austin Powers International Man of Mystery has two problems, one is that Doctor Evil is far more interesting and humorous than Austin Powers, the other is that despite looking fabulous, Elizabeth Hurley just can not act. Still you wont much notice if you enjoy the Benny Hill style humour and occasionally pin sharp Bond spoofery. Austin Powers 2 puts right most of these criticisms and is a much better film. Mike Myers though is still a comedy genius in my eyes.... Read review

Thirty years later Dr. Evil returns to earth to bring about terror and mass destruction but finds his ideas and methods a bit out of date. So too does our hero who upon being thawed out, finds he's a bit behind the times as well. totally shagadelic
Review of Austin Powers - International Man Of Mystery DVD by  phatman

Advantages: very funny
Disadvantages: sometimes annoying

...Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery was probably the funniest movie of 1997. Its jokes are very well-crafted and laugh-out-loud hilarious and the film's script is original and impressively likeable. Mike Myer's effort in this film was outstanding, he played 2 characters, wrote the script and basically directed the movie. Liz Hurley is also a sparkling gem of this flick, her performance was great. Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery is a film that is extremely hard to dislike, and it may sound lame, but in years to come, I reckon it will be a classic.... Read review

Advantages: Extremely Funny
Disadvantages: Only Out On Video Now

...This movie is another must see movie for the year, however, I do feel that the sequel to this movie is better than the first. In this movie, Mike Myers who plays Austin Powers is following Dr. Evil who is also played by Mike Myers, Dr. Evil freezes himself in outer space, and when he awakes, he plans to take over the world with nucleur weapons, and the hero, Austin Powers has to save the world whilst adapting to present day life, because he froze himself, only to be awoken when Dr. Evil returns....
