Advantages: funny enough, good cast Disadvantages: a bit tacky in places
...Carry On Girls is often seen as one of the tackiest of the Carry Ons & indeed it is really, with the whole plot being an excuse to show lots of women in bikinis - but it is still a laugh :-)
The story is that the town of Furcombe decides to liven up the quiet season, by holding a beauty contest.
This brings out two opposing camps - the lecherous men looking forward to an eyeful (led by Sid James & Bernard Bresslaw) & the sullen feminists led by June Whitfield as the stern Augusta Prodworthy.
Kenneth Connor plays the aptly named Mayor Bumble & Patsy Rowlands is delightful as his wife, Mildred.
Although some of the film is annoyingly silly, especially the cat fight between Barbara Windsor & Margaret Nolan, it is still enjoyable....

Advantages: Being scared sh*tless. Disadvantages: Disturbing scenes, literally make you sick.
...This disturbing and very frightening movie called Ed Gein is a true story. Any horror movie based on a true story is terrifying but I promise you unless you have seen this you haven't been scared senseless!

(she conceived 3 boys) Augusta threatened her boys by telling them they would go to hell if they had any sexual desires.
Augusta died after a series of strokes. Ed was traumatised as he had lost his only love and best friend. Ed Gein's main hobbies were to visit...

...This second film adaptation of Wilde's classic comedy is highly enjoyable - if you're a fan of costume comedy's and Wilde's writing. I wasn't sure whether I'd enjoy this version, being such a big fan of both the play itself, and the original film. But this version brought a slightly different interpretation to the screen. Not different enough to deviate from the original story, but different enough to make it an orginal film rather than a remake. Jack and Algernon are two city friends who both aspire to be other people - called Earnest. Gwendolyn is Algy's cousin who falls in love with Earnest (Jack), much to the disgust of her overbearing mother, Augusta, who disaproves of Jack's not knowing who his parents are. Meanwhile, Algy learns of Jack's 18 year old Charge living in the country, a daydreamer called Cecily, and goes to visit...
