DVD Description
French director Luc Besson (LEON: THE PROFESSIONAL, LA FEMME NIKITA) spent 3 years diving all over the globe, movie camera in tow, to capture the natural, awe-inspiring ballet of undersea life. Set to an ever-changing soundtrack, fish, sharks, sea snakes, whales, dolphins, and more are beautifully photographed as they move as if choreographed. Expanding on the lush underwater imagery he captured in THE BIG BLUE (1988), ATLANTIS is a unique work from a visionary director.

...the great thing about this movie, is the way they animate the fluffy animals. i thought at first that the rats were cool, but when Tom Hanks brought out the penguin, everything seemed ok....
its about a trio of unlikely heros who go in search of the city of Atlantis, lead by Tom Hanks, who plays the boys long lost Uncle, twice convicted of rape. out to prove his innocence and ensure a wild time is had by all, he takes them on a journey that will change them forever. the youngsters include emilio estevez, ted danson and rob schneider. when they do find Atlantis however, they await a nasty surprise. i wont ruin the ending for you but i will say this much, if you dont like inter species sexual relations, do not watch the last few hours. overall i give it 3 out of five, but i didnt like the way the entire movie was shot at a 90 degree angle...

Advantages: Cool Disney film Disadvantages: slightly slow start
...Reminded me of a sort of Jason + the Argonaughts style plot. Group of people, all unique in there own Diney-style way :) go on a search for Atlantis the lost empire. Having to steer clear of obstacles + enemies galore on the way. As always with Disney films there is an element of romance included + bad guys to defeat. A twist of plot when once the hidden Atlantis is discovered part the group turn against our fearless leader. Life is found to still be on Atlantis + it is put in danger... but all sorts itself out. Delightful for the children + little boys will love the giant creatures which try to stop the group getting to Atlantis ;)...
