Advantages: Hilarious at times and the use of Chapters. Disadvantages: Rather upsetting at times, DVD jumped a little
...'East Is East' is a great comedy but you can expect to shed the odd tear or two if you have a soft heart. The plot is very up and down and can be hilarious at certain times, yet rather upsetting at other times. The Asian father wants all his sons and daughters to follow his Muslim beliefs, unfortunately for him they're all growing up and are
making their own decisions in life now. I found that the film can be very
tearful, especially towards the end, but is a real good laugh otherwise. I found the film suited someone who just wanted to have a night in with a mate laughing the night away. That's what I did! If you are down in the dumps this film may also help, but you must be prepared to cry if you're a

Overall the DVD film was brilliant-mainly because of the storyline and plot, but I also thought that the DVD itself...

...With the exception of Sixth Sense, Armageddon is definately the best film I have with Bruce Willis in a long time.
Basically Bruce and his crew who normally operate an oil rig are called upon to save the world by drilling on a huge asteroid which is due to collide with the earth.
I won't spoil the ending although it is pretty obvious that the world does go on but there are some tear jerking moments towards the end but there is also comedy and lots of action right through the film....

Advantages: star-studded movie, easy to watch, good soundtrack Disadvantages: bad script, overhyped, nothing special
...Aside from all the media hype about how amazing this movie is, I watched it hoping to be blown away in amazement. However, after watching it and shedding a few tears, and after reflecting on it for about 3 minutes, it really isn't anything all that special. After all, the main thing that got the tearsgoing was the heroic gestures and human emotions linked with the prospect of being blown up in space.
Liv Tyler is gorgeous; she always was and always will be. However, her name and her pretty self was merely used to boost the movie's ratings. In other words, this movie would not have been so 'amazing' if it had not had several big names in its cast list plus the theme tune played by a mega band.
Good movie, bad script....
