Advantages: Extremely well acted, beautiful soundtrack, everything spot on Disadvantages: Some people will never see this because of preconceived notions
...or record players,so how was this accomplished? This was a vocal orchestra, pure harmony of sung voices.
Two prisoners were instrumental in this morale booster - Norah Chambers, who had been trained at London's Royal Academy of Music, and Margaret Dryburgh, a Presbyterian missionary. It was thanks to them that at Christmas in 1943, the camp echoed to the beautiful sounds of an angelic choir. They had Chopin, Debussy, and Brahms, Mendelssohn and Dvorak, all transcribed from memory and taught to the other women, who sang the instrumental parts.
Beresford tracked down survivors all over the world to learn first-hand accounts of their ordeal, and then turned out a film which is both historical and inspirational. ...Ramones
The ramones were a punk rock band from America. They played 2,263 gigs and toured non stop for nearly 22 years. Their songs are short and usually clock in under the three minute mark. They all took stagenames with the surname Ramone, although none of them were related. Within eight years of their breakup, three of the founding members had died.
The true Story
As you may have guessed, this is the true story of the Ramones. It stars founder member Tommy Ramone, tour manager Monte. A. Melnick, art director Arturo Vega and founder and owner of CBGB's, Hilly Kristal. It includes rare broadcasts from Joey, Deedee and Johnny Ramone that have not been released on DVD before. It shows the story behind the history and music of the Ramones.
My opinion
As another unoficial release, this one is pretty good. I havn't seen...

Advantages: Every Changing Locations Disadvantages: Bit cheesy at times
...Sliders was a great concept where a student scientist creates a sliding device where he can teleport to various parallel universes where its the same year but where certain events being different the outcomes in that world reflect that.
I enjoy seeing where the gang end up next, and getting John Rhys-Davies to play as proffesor Arturo was just ingenius. You can't help but think your watching Lord of the Rings by mistake. The episodes get better as they move along, and you follow malory closely to see if he ever manages to get back home again.
In this set you get both series 1 and series 2 which is a great bonus, and the story will keep you hooked like any good tv series. Sliders isn't great with modern days special effects, but in its day it was right up there with effects and i still think its a great watch and will always...
