Advantages: great animation and songs Disadvantages: none
...Tim Burton's The Nightmare Before Christmas is based on character sketches and a storyline that Burton produced when he was working for Disney, in the lowly job of animator on The Fox and The Hound.
The characters were various monsters, and the story imagined a world where each holiday has its own town: a snowy, jolly one for Christmas, a dark, scary one for Haloween. The inhabitants of Halloweentown seize control of Christmas, with weird results.
Not surprisingly, Disney rejected the idea, until Burton became famous, that is, when they dusted it off, and made it with state of the art stop motion animation. It looks fantastic, and the range of characters and sets is incredible.
Certain sad cases like Emma Norman in the Radio Times have condemned the film as evil, and not for kids. Ignore them, kids love fun, spooky stuff...

Advantages: Well choreographed fight scenes Disadvantages: The usual predictable JCVD storylines
...A good film for a beer filled saturday night in with the lads, this film has some remarkable similarities to Karate Kid with the master that gives the pupil an unconventional training regime. The fight scenes are well choreographed and get the watcher into the scene.
This movie gives a good look at the small village life of thailand, with some stunning locations and scenary. Although the film was made in 1989 it is a film that doesnt show it's age.
This, along with Universal Soldier has to be the top two films in anyones Jean Claude Van Damme film collection. Shame they had to ruin the series by producing more than one Kickboxer film.
A well recommended buy for all Jean Claude Van Damme and martial arts fans alike....

Advantages: Clear, easy to follow instructions, good picture quality Disadvantages: sound quality varies
...This is a great DVD for magicians who are at the begginer to lower intermediate level. It has some basic moves (passes, shuffles, cuts) and some easy tricks and would be suitable for a teenager/ younger kid. The running time of this DVD is average, 1 and a bit hours and Jerry Sadowitz takes the time to clearly show how the tricks work and how to get the best reaction, there are close-ups, slow motion and repeated shots to help the magician learn as quiclky as possible. If however, you know the basic moves and tricks, i recommend a more in-depth dvd which requires more knowledge and better patience.
If you are new and want a good learning source, this is it.
Four Stars....
