Advantages: Excellent acting, characterisation, plot, atmosphere... Disadvantages: A bit slow-moving for some, I guess.

Advantages: Beautiful scenery Disadvantages: Long movie
...Forget about whether you have read the book or not, just enjoy the movie for what it is, a romantic story set in the beautiful Greek island of Cephalonia in 1940. In fact, neither my wife or I had read the bestselling book written by Louis de Bernieres, and we had read mixed reviews about the movie.
We found ourselves transported to Cephalonia, panoramic views of a blue sea, dusty heat and a village square. The story centres around a romantic triangle between Pelagia, played by Penelope Cruz, Captain Corelli, played by Nicholas Cage and the swarthy, taciturn Mandras, played by Christian Bale. Cephalonia is occupied by the Italian army, which includes Captain Corelli, who prefers music and the pursuit of wine, women and song to war.
Corelli stays at Doctor Iannis's house, the doctor is played by John Hurt. Pelagia is his daughter...

...school days well behind her as back in her school days she was a "Geek" and had the reputation of being a "Geek to the CORE", "Josie Grossie" is what the kids at school would call her, she was not at all popular. She decides to get a makeover…Um cringe moment!! With her assignment not going so well, her brother played by David Arquette decides to help out and makes friends with the popular kids in order to help his sister…but does it work?? An English teacher takes a liking to Josie as she is really good in her English lessons and the feelings seem to be the same…But can Josie do her assignment and be accepted by the rest of her team?? But off course I have to say about the title "Never Been Kissed" is exactly what she is, 25 and never been kissed…
