Anna and the King is one of my all time favourite movie ,this movie is based on a true life story. Starring Chow Yun-Fat as King Mongkut ,and Jodie Foster as Anna the teacher. Anna who is a widow is sent a letter requesting that she should come to Siam to teach the kings eldest son Chulalongkong. When Anna arrives in Siam with her son Louis and her two indian servents she thinks that a house away from the palace will be provided , but is not. At first Anna does not meet the king she meets one of his men who tells her what she shall be doing in siam. Latter Anna gets fustrated that she has not meet the king yet and her needs have not been met so she charges her way in to the palce were the king is holding a meeting and requst to speak to him, Finally her needs are met . The king askes Anna to teach all his 68 children and wives , she as alot of hard work ahead of her. The king and Annas relationship gathers more stregth as time goes on but soontenisn buils as Mongut the king learns that outside forces are conspiring against his regiem. Anna and the king have no choice but soon start to fight for Siam against the dangerous enemies who are bent on destruction of Siam and the people.
THis movie is a materpeice ,filled with passion and emotional scenes, there is adventure, love and some funny scenes. The actores and actress performance is incredible. The way this movie as been made from other films is very different , because of the stunning scenery of the country the clothes they were and the buldings and the palac. This film is deffently a sweeping materpiece.
