Anger Management / Groundhog Day / So I Married An Axe Murderer (Flix Box) (DVD)

...This has got to be one of my favourite movies of all time. It has everything really that a movie needs; bad poetry (Well you don?t often see that in a movie now do you?), humour, a great entertainer (In my books), some classic lines and of course a mad axe murderer <g>. The film So I Married an Axe Murderer was made in 1993. It was directed by Thomas Schlamme and written by Robbie Fox. The film was billed as a 15 (Meaning it is unsuitable for anyone under this age to watch) in the UK. It is in the comedy genre and although the main cast aren?t all well known they certainly do the film justice. Cast is as follows? Mike Myers .... Charlie Mackenzie/Stuart Mackenzie Nancy Travis .... Advantages: good entertaining film for all the family
Disadvantages: none really

..., with Phil being forced to replay one day for eternity, it is soon seen that even one repeated day can have many different results. The simple way Phil finds out what Rita likes and uses his memory to impress her when he awakens the next morning, (the next day to him but the same 'groundhog day' to other??). It has a well written storyline with some good comedy, a few thrills and a good dollop of romance.. What more do you want? .. The only thing that is missing is a good car chase with a crash at the end. Although it is a little predictable it is still worth watching, just for the banter coming from Bill towards many of the other characters. There is no real violence in this movie, apart from one small incident involving Phil and an insurance man), so this one can be viewed by all the family. Would I recommend this?.? Yes.. Go... Advantages: Fantastic story. Bill Murray is superb.
Disadvantages: DVD extras are nothing special.

...Whilst looking through some of my old reviews on Ciao, I noticed that I had never gotten around to writing a review of my favourite film of all time, in fact I thought it was about time I whipped out my DVD and had another watch. The film that I am talking about, why its GROUNDHOG DAY!!! Bill Murray plays the lead role in the film, that of TV weatherman Phil Connors. Phil is your typical local television weatherman, getting a short slot each day for the weather bulletins, and occasionally getting sent out on special assignment to cover local stories that no one else wants to cover. In this instance, the event is in Gobblers Knob Park, Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, and is the local Groundhog Day celebrations.
