Advantages: Such a deep and in depth film Disadvantages: Characters could be developed
Angels and Demons was released May this year, I watched the Da Vinci Code and therefore felt it a responsibility to watch Angels and Demons. I thoroughly enjoyed the last movie and even though I personally view sequels to be less exciting than the first films, I went to see this on one of the first showings as I?m a sucker for any mystery thrillers and this was definately one which I had anticipated for some time.
I took a girlfriend with me to see it and she had not previously seen the Da Vinci Code, nor was she entirely sure of the storyline behind Angels and Demons. I did think beforehand that this would put her at a disadvantage but she did insist that she was prepared for a bit of confusion and hard work to get through the film!
How it started
The film is based on a novel, also called Angels and Demons, by Dan Brown. Dan ...
Advantages: Great cast, plot and true to the book Disadvantages: None
Angels and demons was a film that I had wanted to watch for a while, having been a great fan of the book, and the previous film The Da Vinci Code, I knew that this film would be both controversial yet at the same time very action packed and entertaining.
Ron Howard is a great director he made the Da Vinci code live up to the book, and previous work in Apollo Thirteen has meant that he does no how to make a great film, with a great cast, great plot and great twist. Some would say that it?s easy to direct a film that was a book, however I think its even harder, You have to make the film suspenseful, people who read the book might no the outcome of the film, but if you put enough thought into it you can still make the intrigued.
Plot:
The film begins with the setting of a scientific experiment at the CERN centre in Switzerland, were ...

DVD Description
This is a sumptuous and erotic drama where the insect world becomes a metaphor for the depravity and decadence of the upper class in this visually enticing period piece. Set at the height of British colonialism William, a penniless entomologist, falls in love with the eldest daughter of Sir Alabaster, an aristocrat who has offered the young man a position as his assistant. In spite of William's low social status and lack of funds, he and Eugenia are eventually married, and several children are born. One day, William discovers that his wife has a shocking secret, and his life will never be the same. Kristen Scott Thomas received the Best Actress accolade at the Evening Standard British Film Awards, and the film garnered an Academy Award nomination for Best Costume Design.
