Angel battles his inner demon

Advantages: Lots more familiar characters from the Buffy universe
Disadvantages: Some of the special features are tedious

...
In season 2 Angel moves away from its Buffy origins and concentrates more on what makes Angel himself interesting - the fact that he's a vampire with a soul and is, therefore, constantly battling his inner demon and struggling for redemption.

Given the destruction of their original office building at the end of season 1, the team (Angel, Wesley and Cordelia) move into the abandoned Hyperion hotel, which gives them much more ...
...
The team at Angel Investigations are joined by Charles Gunn, a tough street kid with a history of fighting vampires and once again are battling evil wherever they find it and the 'Big Bad' - the lawyers for the supernaturally challenged, Wolfram and Hart, who bring Darla (the gal who vamped Angel) back from the dead to turn him bad.

Another new character is the green singing demon, Lorne, who comes in handy when the whole team ... more

Angel and Demons and Darla - Oh My!

Advantages: Great finale, some great episodes and a good plot arc
Disadvantages: Some bad episodes

gallery # Blue prints # Full script for episode 'Disharmony' # Audio commentary on 'Over The Rainbow' from Fred Keller # Featurette: 'Season 2 Overview' # Featurette: 'Stunts' # Season 1 DVD trailer # Cast biography pages --Overall-- Angel season two is bigger and better than before, with a better overall plot arc and a great season finale that puts season one's ending to shame. Gunn's addition to the fang gang worked really well, as he provided a much needed contrast to the way Angel and Wesley worked. Amy Acker as Fred is fantastic - but we only get to see a little of her character here. Don't worry, she's back full-time from season three on. Whilst there are a few bad episodes in the mix, there's enough here to keep you watching and wanting more. ...

Angel Murders Mandy

Advantages: All 22 Episodes in one boxset | Angel singing Mandy
Disadvantages: Still too dependent on viewer having watched Buffy

After having watched all seven seasons of Buffy The Vampire Slayer, and owning them on DVD, I decided the time had come to purchase the boxsets of the spin-off series Angel. Although I enjoyed the first season, I felt it was perhaps a little disjointed, so when I started on this the second season I was a little apprehensive, but was I right to be so? Read on and you'll find out?. ---About the Season--- The season begins in a karaoke bar, and a red-horned, green-skinned Demon singing "I will survive" and introducing Los Angeles a city of bright lights and dark streets, we then cut to our various heroes as they carry out their duties as protectors of the helpless while dealing with their personal demons. We see Angel, trying to come to terms with the fact that he may one day become human once more, Cordelia is still trying to ...

Angel Rides Again

Advantages: 22 episodes of fun and demon killing
Disadvantages: Again the box lets it down

. Stills Gallery: A usual display of pictures and still from the series. Set Blueprints "Inside the Agency" Featurette: How the concept and designs of the sets were come about. Very interesting. Disc Five: Script for "Disharmony": Same as the script for Darla (except different episode of course) Disc Six: Commentary for "Over The Rainbow" Season 2 Overview Featurette: Writers talk about what they enjoy about the series. Actors talk about how they feel about their characters. Very interesting. "Stunts" Featurette: How some of the stunts are done and co-ordinated. Season One DVD trailer: if you haven't seen it, a little teaser Cast Biographies : usual background stories for the main characters. Now? With the disks and there contents out of the way we can talk about what they come in. As throughout both the Angel and Buffy series ...
