This is a far movie than the original film with more explanation surrounding the question of the probe which crashes in the small town of Pedemonte Utah. In the original film it was never really properly explained.
We have found a tear in the fabric of space and recklessly sent in a probe to find out as much as we can about it. When the probe returns it crashes into a small out of the way town and soon everybody is dead, well not quite everybody?
What has the probe brought back with it that can so easily and rapidly kill everyone human and animal alike?
The probe is brought to a secure underground research station in order to discover the secrets it hold but the virus is already loose and soon America and the world is under threat of extension. Has the probe been sent back with death hidden inside it or is it all a mistake. A friendly message that we simply do not comprehend and cannot unlock?
The two survivors are now the centre of attention for the ‘Wild Fire Team’ as the clock is ticking and people are dying. The virus even eats through metal and plastic and if it gets to the water table the world is doomed.
This is a superb film and as previously stated far better than the original. The ending is excellent and maybe they will make a follow up. The special effects are very special and although he dialogue can sometimes be a bit ‘Technical’ the film itself is well worth watching. Recommended
