The Andromeda Strain. ******************
A singularity in space has been found and project scoop was sent in, came out and now.........
The satellite crashes on the outskirts of a hick town, Pedemonte Utah, and is discovered by two teenagers who put it in the back of their van and take it into town. Meanwhile the satellites owners turn up looking for it...........
They follow the satellite into town and there are dead bodies everywhere !!! Project Scoop is about to turn the world on its head.
A specialist team is put together to deal with the crisis. The wild fire team has no idea what is about to happen and what they are about to go through.
The Andromeda Strain is here; it kills instantly and is 100% fatal. Except.... that someone is still alive, how they have stayed alive becomes critical to the teams investigations. The town is a ghost town, except for a crying baby and a drunken wino. Could they be immune or could there be something else. My money is on 'something else'.
With the clock ticking the wild fire team, the town and the world is under threat and now the press is sniffing around.
And the Andromeda strain is spreading.
The Wild Fire Team: **************** Dr Jeremy Stone - Benjamin Bratt Dr Angela noyce - Christa Miller Dr Tsi Chou - Daniel Dae Kim Dr Charlene Barton - Viola Davis Major Bill Keen - Rick Stroder
Opinions: ******** Forget the original film this one is far superior. The acting is fair if not great but the story is a superb end of the world scenario. The soundtrack throughout gives a great spooky atmosphere. It can get a bit 'tecky' now and again but that aids in the general plot.
The idea of an alien virus and whether or not it was deliberately sent to destroy us is a fresh spin on an old film. And then the truth is revealed and it's a cracker. I think Michael Crichton would be proud of this adaptation of his novel.
Runtime: 180 Minutes
Worth watching, Once.
