The voyages of Captain Dylan Hunt and the crew of the Andromeda Ascendant are continued as they try to re-energise the Andromeda and find their way out of the Seefra system.

As with most of the DVD's in the fifth series this box set contains 4 episodes namely E10 to E13, which are seperated onto 2 DVD's.

E10 - The Test.

This is a bit of a wierd episode as it is told from start to finish as normal, but the character interaction is dealt with by fade in / out as the story moves along. For example, Trance is at the bar and then dylan would fade in, interact and the fade out.

The episode basically tells the story of a Paradine who is 'murdered' and all the crew, apart from Doyle are accused of the murder. As the plot moves along and each crew member is accused and cross examined by 'the stranger' who came from the route of ages and landed, during the murder, they all start plan against each other if they are found guilty. At the start of the episode, the victim offers every one of them something to make them rich, therefore they are all planning on what to do with the money.

At the end of the episode it is found out that Dylan murdered the victim and that the whole thing is a test to get the crew to work together again and work as a team. The victim was essentially the stranger and he was sent by a future Dylan. Dylan also gets part of a device which will help him power the Andromeda back up.

On the whole a well executed episode, apart from the distractive way that the story is told.

E11 - Through The Glass, Darkly.

In my opinion, the best episode on the DVD set. The story revolved around the crew of the Andromeda trying to save a refugee camp from an evil tyrant who is trying to take over Seefra 5. With the crew trying to supply the refugee's with supplies and Rhade helping to defend the camp, Dylan needs a way to get the food and stuff to the colony through the Anti Aircraft blockade.

With the help of Hohne (A character who died 3 years ago and is brought forward to help him), Harper works on the defunct matter transporter to get the supplies through. This plan, however, creates a way for Dylan to stop the whole fall of the commonwealth as the matter transporter is still 'attached' to the last place it connected to, 300 years in the past.

With time running out in both timeframes, seeing as the transporter has caused the Seefra sun's to start to nova, Hohne sacrifices himeself to save the whole system but at the expense of the transporter. Because of the solar flares, the Anti Aircraft blockade is broken and the camp saved.

E12 - Pride Before The Fall.

An unknown stranger traps Beka on the Maru and has set a bomb to explode if she calls for help. Dylan has also found a way to fully power the Andromeda back up and therefore work on a way to exit the Seefra system. The stranger though has other plans as he wants the Andromeda for himself.

After investigation, it turns out that the Stranger is actually Drago Museveni and that the route of ages has brought him forward in time. Due to the special releationship he and Beka had, it turns out the Beka is the Matriarch of the Nietzschean race. Dylan finally get the Andromeda fully powered up.

This is a filler episode as it sets up many plot threads for the forthcoming episodes.

E13 - Moonlight Becomes You.

Again, another filler episode as Trance finally works out who she is. When trance visits Seefra 2, she meets a man who turns out to be the avatar of the Seefra Moon, with Trance being the Avatar of the Seefra sun.

With Harper, Doyle, Rhade and Beka searching for a Vedran treasure house, which turns out to be a test for protectors of avatars, the stage is set for the Seefra system to finally have the return of the hidden moon.

Extras.

The second DVD also contains the extra's for the boxset. As usual we have the deleted scenes and photo gallery. By far the best extra is the usual blopper reel.

Followers of the series will no doubt purchase this DVD and as usual it has the 12 certificate which has been the norm for most of the series. The whole set has a running time of about 2 hours and 44 minutes and a RRP of 19.99
