diamond, but in reality it's an excuse for a series of exceptional action set-pieces as only Hong Kong cinema knows how to do. The film is actually set in Prague and features both a mixed Chinese and European cast, and some fairly horrendous dubbing. Fortunately no one is going to be watching for the dialogue, and the plot--assorted gangsters betray each other, while others find friendship and redemption--has been replayed endlessly since John Woo's A Better Tomorrow (1986). While Michael Wong makes an acceptable Chow Yun Fat substitute as professional thief Marty, Shannon Lee's ruthless assassin is a revelation. She is Bruce Lee's daughter, and having already appeared in Dragon: The Bruce Lee Story (1993) and Blade (1998), she delivers perhaps the toughest action heroine since Linda Hamilton's Sarah Connor in T2. It's a breathtaking performance, especially in a deliriously extended police station battle which recalls the original Terminator. Overlook the clumsy comic relief and the sub-Bond finale, and settle back to enjoy an insanely frenzied bloodbath packed with over-the-top stunts and razor-sharp martial arts. --Gary S. Dalkin

Advantages: Some brilliant jokes Disadvantages: Some awful jokes
...The Airplane films basically satirise a genre that now seems to be dead - the standard seventies disaster movies, and the "Airport" films in particular. The format of the comedy seems to be a joke every two lines, whether it's funny or not. This ought to be a recipe for disaster itself but in fact the hits are so good that you are easily persuaded to ignore the many, many misses. The amiable cast helps - in particular, Leslie Nielsen, a serious actor who finally began his career to stardom. All the actors seem to understand perfectly the nature of the film they're in, and succeed in playing it seriously even as the daftest things happen. I suppose not everyone will appreciate this film - it aims at silliness rather than wit - but it would be humourless person who didn't find something to laugh at....

Advantages: QUALITY STORY AND ACTING Disadvantages: NONE
...Two complete strangers awaken in a disgusting bathroom in the middle of god-knows-where. They're both chained by the ankles and escape seems quite impossible; but a handful of disturbing clues are left behind (not the least of which is a dead man with his brains blown out), and the pair quickly find themselves unraveling a collection of mysteries that are probably better left well alone.
I thought this was a fantastic film keeping you watching and guessing from start to finnish.
Going into any more detail would ruin this fantastic piece of cinema for anyone who has still to see it so ill just finnish by saying how impressed i was with the story and acting and would reccomend it to anyone....

...A young mans car collides with a large truck in bad weather, is he dead? or could it be worse than death? David Cronenberg directed this film which is based on a Stephen King book. This is a good film and Christopher Walken is brilliant in the lead role. There are very scarey visions in the film. And I felt very sorry for the character played by Walken. This film is a must see for Stephen King fans and horrer fans in general. Have you got thr bottle to enter the dead zone!...
