And now for something completely different. A very silly film. It is silly, but it is funny. It's a Monty Python film!
I havn't seen all of the episodes of the Flying Circus, and apparently, alot of the scenes in this film are taken from the Flying Circus. So with this you can see two shows in one! Incase you didn't know, Monty Python's Flying Circus is a show that was on TV some decades ago. It consisted of comedy sketches and crazy cartoons made ... ...Jones, Terry Gilliam and Graham Chapman.
This film consistes of some of the best sketches and cartoons from the series including the Dead Parrot Sketch, Twit of the Year, The Funniest Joke in the World, Hell's Grannies and the Lumberjack Song and many, many more!
Any fan of the Pythons or just British humour in general will love this, the first more so, although lots of the sketches are abit OTT with the sillyness, imo. So if you don't like silly ...

Advantages: A collection of all the great Monty Python movies Disadvantages: Some movies, ie., Monty Python and the Meaning of Life, have no extra features
...found it unfunny mostly, and a waste of time. I have only seen it once, and that was when I first watched it after purchasing this DVD box set.
The acting is brilliant and while scenarios are quite often absurd and sometimes feeling quite random, acting sometimes feels as though it could be real. The acting is naturally funny as well, backing to the jokes that are made, causing these films to be the funniest I have ever witnessed in my life.
~~~ The DVDs ~~~
So, the box set has 4 DVD cases in, compromising 5 DVDs. These are the three films; Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Monty Python's Life of Brian and Monty Python and the Meaning of Life, as well as the movie of Flying Circus; Monty Python's And Now For SomethingCompletelyDifferent.
~~~ DVD Features ~~~
DVD features I found were generally lacking, following the first DVDs. I...

Advantages: Very funny Disadvantages: Doesn't include all the best moments
...The Pythons, John Cleese, Eric Idle, Michael Palin, Terry Jones, Terry Gilliam and Graham Chapman, put together a comedy TV show called Monty Python's Flying Circus. The show consisted of comedy sketches written and performed by the troupe, bizarre animations and random songs dropped in for no apparant reason. Since all the Pythons have written and contributed, there is a wide variety of styles and jokes, giving something for everyone.
The show was a huge success and so the group put together this 'film' of some of the best moments. The sketches, despite being extremely varied, manage to flow together, with Terry Jones's animations to help merge scenes on completelydifferent subjects.
This film is a laugh from beginning to end, including the Dead Parrot Sketch, Twit of the Year, The Funniest Joke in the World, Hell's Grannies...

DVD Description
AND NOW FOR SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT consists of some of Monty Python's funniest sketches from their earliest years together. Director Ian MacNaughton leads John Cleese, Graham Chapman, Michael Palin, Eric Idle, Terry Jones, and Terry Gilliam on a hysterical romp through pet shops, marriage counselor offices, and odd London streets and fields filled with singing lumberjacks, dead parrots, hungry babies, upper-class twits, people trying not to be seen, and old ladies on motorcycles, fighting off milkmen, bank robbers, crazy flashers, dirty forks, and killer jokes. The sketches have been recreated for the big screen, without the ever-present laugh track but still loaded with Gilliam's outrageously funny animation. As in the television show, the skits are linked together through clever animation as well as by characters in uniform (Graham Chapman, in this case) proclaiming, "I'm warning this film not to get silly again." Among Monty Python's favorite targets are the military, the police, the British government, the courts, Mao, Uncle Sam, and television reporters. As always, there are lots of men in drag. Even the closing credits are a riot. But watch out for that 16-ton weight....
