Advantages: keeps small people quiet Disadvantages: not as good at keeping adults quiet
.... This chamber was built by Salazar Slytherin; one of the four Hogwarts founders; and was built to house a monster that when the heir of slytherin commanded it would purge the school of all mudbloods - wizards and witches of non magic descendants.
Of course the fact that Harry can talk to snakes and the symbol of Slytherin is a snake because Salazar Slytherin was a parcelmouth himself, it makes most of the school suspicious that harry is the heir of Slytherin and is trying to knock off anyone of impure descent.
The special effects are unimpressive, even for a childrens film, especially the whomping willow and the spider that tries to get Ron through the car window. But young kids won't be bothered by that, it could have been done in crude stop frame animation and they would still love it.
The soundtrack is excellent and very moving...

Advantages: Loads of extras and behind the scene footage. Disadvantages: The slug scene is quite disturbing.
...A year later, and we come to the second "Harry Potter" DVD. It's slicker and more interactive than the first release, but some of the special features you'll only ever use once. What's not in doubt is the presentation of the movie, which is brilliant.
