Amores perros: dog loves Amor es perros: love is dogs
It is about dogs, it is about love, but for a Mexican the title really tells them how love is hard, how love is mean, and how love is cruel.
Not having seen a good Mexican movie in a long time Amores perros really amazed me. I never expected such a good film, not only in the story, but also in the filming and in the acting, it makes you proud as a Mexican to see such a good combination.
But on the other side it also shows the reality of a country that is suffering, a city where so many stories take place so close to each other. A country that has many worlds and how each one of them has its own problems that seem as big and as important to its owners.
So yes it is a story about love, about the animal nature of love that lives upon us. Love between father and daughter, love between lovers, love between old and young, love in its essence, as cruel and as wonderful as it can be.
