American Pie doesn't shed any new light on it's years old premise, but it's funny as hell. Four buddies start a pact to lose their virginity by the upcoming prom. Sound new?. Didn't think so. Who cares?. People normally assume that this film is just another braindead rehash of awful 80's high school sex comedies like "Porky's". They would be so incredibly wrong. What makes American Pie special and different is that the movie has a heart. It can be quite tender at times. Sure the comedy is pure gold and the characters are great to watch, but this heart that the film has is what really makes the film. It stands out among all of the teen/school/sex comedies. And deservedly so. The writers weren't afraid to alienate their target audience by having tender scenes, and, judging by box office, they didn't seem to mind either. The cast is very good. They are quite possibly the best assembled cast for a teen film in eons!. Jason Biggs gives a credible performance as our dorky hero Jim. Sean William Scott as Stifler is a great comedic character and performance. The onlyun believeable part is actor Chris Klein as Oz. Are we supposed to believe he's a loser who can't get a hot girl?. Come on. Speaking of girls.....WOW1!. That's all I will say on the matter. And, finally, there's Eugene Levy. Why hasn't this man been given his own movie or T.V. show?. He is a comedic genius who doesn't get the recognition he deserves. His portrayal as Jim's dad is flawless and hysterical. He stands well on his own among a cast of young 'uns. How can we forget Alysan Hannigan as Michelle, the band geek?. She gives one of the best, most memorable comedic performances in the last few years. She was perfect. Am I the only one who thinks she was adorable?. She helped create the funniest catch phrase in recent memory. You know the one. There you have it. American Pie is an American classic. Buy this and enjoy over and over again

A good first op, although paragraphs are a good idea. Make sure you read a few ops to see how it is done rather than churning out op after op. Mike
