Ok, so its saturday night, nothing on TV (as usual), what to do what to do, i know the cinema!! "ooh that one with subtitles" suggests my mate, " I dont think so!!!!". American Wedding, the third, and apparently final, installment of the ever popular American Pie movies hit our screens early last month and i have been dying to see it ever since, i am a huge fan of this, and most other titles in this genre, 'Road Trip' etc. Was i to be dissapointed, you'll have to read to the bottom!!!
o0o0o0o Plot o0o0o0o
The film, i think, picks up pretty much where the last one left us, with the 'gang' leaving college and starting their lives. It starts with Jim proposing to Michelle in a restaurant, sounds simple enough, not for these guys, i wont ruin it but lets just say at some point in the scene Jim is naked from the waist down stood between his dad and a waiter, very funny!!
The story then follows with the planning for the wedding, getting a dress, the bachelor party, and of course Jim meeting Michelle's parents for the first time. All of these scenes,
as you can imagine throw up a whole string of funny twists and turns, climaxing in the event itself.
The plot is quite a basic one but like i say with the American Pie team you know for sure that its going to be worth it.
o0o0o0o Cast o0o0o0o
Most of the original cast are back, but Oz, who was a very central character has dissapeared with no mention whatsoever throughout the film, other noticable exceptions include Nadia, and Stifflers brother. But nonetheless Jim, Kevin, Finch, Stiffler, Michelle, and Jims parents are all included, with the addition of Michelle's parents and sister, the love interest.
Stiffler plays a more lead role in this movie than either of the previous 2, he is in pracically every scene and i applaud the directors choice as i think he is by far the funniest thing in the movie, he rivals Finch for the love of Cadence, Michelles sister, with the personalities of each man reversed, you'll understand what i mean when you watch the film.
The rest of the cast are excellent as usual with the exception of Thomas Nicholas (Kevin), i thought he was very under-used and didnt really contribute to the story very much, not really his fault as he is a worthy actor, i just felt it was a strange choice from the director.
o0o0o0o0o Highs and Lows o0o0o0o0o
Without a doubt the funniest bit of the film has to be the Bachelor party, Jim lies to Stiffler and says that Michelles' parents are out of town, when really they aren't and Jim has prepared a special meal for them to ask for their permission to marry their daughter, Stiffler being Stiffler of course hires two strippers, dressed as a Maid and a Policewoman, in the mayhem that ensues Kevin is tied up, Finch covered with chocolate sauce, the strippers 'pimp' (wearing trousers that dont really cover his modesty) pretending to be their butler, it really is a solid five minutes of laughing till you cry.
Another good point is when we get to see Stifflers femanine side, i wont tell you too much but if you were confused about the title of this op it will all make sense after the film!!!
The worst bit has to be the very predictable ending which everyone saw coming and wasn't extraodinarily funny/moving. This, however is irrelevant as it does detract to much from the 90 mins of mayhem that pre-ceeds it.

o0o0o0o Conclusion o0o0o0o
It is a very good film, it makes you laugh and does everything its supposed to, but it will never be a classic, that honour remains solely in the hands of the first one, no matter how many times they try they will never make any film as good as that one, which is why i'm glad this is supposed to be the last one, as the dialogue is getting a bit boring and the plotlines are wearing a bit thin, but overall it is definately worth watching
It runs at 102 mins (approx)
Directed by Jesse Dylan and is rated 15, in cinemas everywhere now!!!

Oh and one more thing, it really does have a very very good soundtrack, including Good Charlotte and Sum 41
