American Pie Presents Band Camp is a comedy/romance film which was released in October 2005. The film was directed by Steve Rash who also directed Bring It On All Or Nothing (2006) and Bring It On In It To Win It (2007). American Pie Presents Band Camp has a BBFC rating of 15 because the film contains some sexual content, nudity, crude humour and language which isn't suitable for younger viewers. American Pie Presents Band Camp has an estimated run time of approximately 94 minutes.
Band Camp doesn't really have a huge plot basically the film mainly focuses around Matt Stifler (Steve Stifler's younger brother) who gets caught messing around with the school band's musical instruments. After he is caught he is sent to the school counsellor who is Sherman aka The Sherminator. Sherman hated Matt's older brother Steve so he decided to make Matt's life a misery and sends him off to Band Camp at Great Oaks. Before Matt goes to Band Camp he orders lots of video equipment so as he can get some live video footage to make a film which will make his brother Steve Stifler proud of him and so as he can become part of the family business which is named Stiffmeister Productions.
American Pie Presents Band Camp is the fourth American Pie film following the success of the previous three films in the sequel. As the name suggests this fourth instalment is about Band Camp, however none of the famous faces from the previous American Pie Films such as Michelle, Jim, Stifler and Finch appear in this sequel, the only characters whom appear in this sequel are Mr Levenstein aka Jim's Dad who is played by Eugene Levy and Sherman aka the Sherminator who is played by Chris Owen. I was really excited when I heard Band Camp was being released but my excitement soon turned to disappointment when I discovered that none of the characters from the previous three films would appear in this one. I wasn't going to watch Band Camp because of this, but I did watch it and again I wasn't disappointed because Band Camp was just as good as the others.
One of the main reasons I thought Band Camp was as good is because Tad Hilgenbrink played the part of Matt Stifler brilliantly. I had never seen a film with Tad Hilgenbrink in it before, so I had no idea of what his acting capabilities were like before watching Band Camp, but his acting performance in Band Camp amazed me because he played the part excellently and was so much like Steve Stifler (Seann William Scott) who appeared in the previous three American Pie films. Tad Hilgenbrink's performance was almost like a mirror image of Seann William Scott's right down to his facial expressions, actions, cocky one liner jokes and idiotic erratic behaviour. Most of Matt Stifler's cocky one liner gags provide the most laughs in the film, most of the time he manages to somehow say cock and asshole in most sentences which are most commonly used to insult other members from different bands. One of my favourite quotes from Matt Stifler is "How's that taste, Vande-cock? Mmmm... good, huh? Warm and salty? Yeah, it's a CUM-pletely new formula! 100% Stiffy Juice! SPF 69!" This quote was used when he was getting his own back on one of the band leaders from another band.
Another one of the main characters whom I thought played a particularly good role in the film was Arielle Kebbel who played the part of Band Leader Elise. Having seen Arielle Kebbel in a few films such as The Grudge 2 and Reeker prior to watching Band Camp and rather liking the roles she played I thought it was rather different seeing her portraying a teenage school girl within a comedy role. Kebbel played the part of Elise rather well; although in one particular scene in Band Camp where she was a little drunk I didn't think that her acting skills were good enough to convince the viewers that she was in fact drunk. Apart from that I thought her acting throughout the film was pretty good; I liked the role of her character because she was a leader and wasn't too bossy, she had more of a sensitive side but she could also loosen up and have a laugh and a joke.
Most of the other characters throughout the film also played particularly good roles I think that there was only one actress whom I didn't really like and that was Angela Little who played Sheree, I didn't think that her acting capabilities were entirely convincing and believable. The character she played was also a little annoying and the accent which she was putting on was also annoying and unrealistic in some sense.
In most of the film there was a lot of choreographed scenes filmed with the various different bands at Band Camp. I think that the choreography was reasonably good and all of the actors performed well in this part of the film, especially as they had to play musical instruments and do a marching routine at the same time. Most of the actors/actresses also had to perform using musical instruments in most parts of the film, I'm not too sure if the actors learned to play the instruments especially for the role of the film or if these parts were mimed. I however thought that these scenes were very realistic and the musical parts were portrayed excellently, especially when the band were performing their music routine. Most of the songs which the band played were in fact ones which I had heard of, such as Born to Be Wild, Play That Funky Music White Boy and Pink's Get The Party Started. Other songs which were played by the band in the film were more of a classical nature but still enjoyable to listen too though.
The props and costume design for the film was also well thought out although there was one continuity issue which I picked up on at the beginning of the film. Matt Stifler went to band camp wearing a pair of black and white shoes a few seconds later he is wearing a pair of black sneakers. This happens very near the beginning of the film and it is quite noticeable. Apart from the minor continuity issue with the trainers, all of the costumes were quite nice especially the ones for the band members from the different bands when they were performing their musical piece for the Judges.
I really liked this film, well I liked all of the American Pie films. I thought it was a really funny film with lots of jokes and funny scenes even although the plot was a tad predictable. But I think that the amount of jokes, pranks and cocky one liner jokes somewhat made up for the lack of detail in the plot. Matt Stifler was my favourite character in the film because he was so much like Steve Stifler (his older brother).
If you like comedy style films and silly practical jokes cocky one liner jokes then this is a film that you would really enjoy. American Pie Presents Band Camp DVD can be bought from Amazon and costs £11.97 brand new or a used copies start from prices as low as £0.98.

Advantages: funny, not as bad as expected, original jokes Disadvantages: -
...was looking and came across American Pie Band Camp. I had seen the three previous American Pie films and loved them all as they were hilarious but the only thing is I heard that this one didn’t feature the original cast so it had put me off for a bit. I got over the cast not being original though and decided to watch it and hoped it was good. The film begins with us being introduced to a film by Stifmeister productions which is now the production ... ...Mr Levenstein from the previous American Pie films. It’s not long before Matt realises that he maybe needs to grow up a bit and start acting like a more of a team with the rest of the band members even though it’s really not his kind of thing.
The film is not one with a really deep plot, it is just a comedy and although it may not sound good from the summary it actually isn’t that bad. It has a lot of immature jokes and a lot of innuendos but it ...

Advantages: Scantily Clad Women, Eugene Levy Disadvantages: Its a tired franchise, different cast, not really THAT funny
...the 4th instalment of the American Pie series, most of which I have enjoyed as the fun movies that they have intended to be. But with the cast of the previous three movies moving on and a whole new cast in this film, albeit as different characters. Would the film be as good, or just a studio milking the franchise to a "film too far"?
Centering on Steve Stiflers little brother, Matt. (Tad Hilgenbrinck) Matt's penchant for mischief and practical jokes ... ...much as in the first American Pie, and I was entertained. But a lot of the gags were rehashes of stuff in the previous films and a bit tired. The Sherminator who makes a comeback appearance as the guidance counsellor is not funny anymore, and Eugene Levy, who is the only other tenacious link with the other films is sadly wasted as the camps MACRO (Moral And Conflict Resolution Officer), although still worth the occasional grin.
Acting wise I would ...

The Storyline
American Pie returns for its fourth outing following the adventures of Steve Stifler's younger brother Matt (Tad Hilgenbrink) as he is dispatched to Band Camp for the summer due to the pranks that he played during the last semester of school. Although he hates the idea of Band Camp he decides to make the most of it, with a series of practical jokes he plans to play on the rest of the campers along with winning the respect of his brother ... ...the regular cast of the American Pie movies have moved on, there is a cameo by Chris Owen as Chuck Sherman (Sherminator), as the school counselor who punishes Matt by sending him to Band Camp. Plus the excellent Eugene Levy returns as Jim's dad who is working as a counselor at the band camp, as Jim and Michelle are expecting a baby.

Advantages: Tad has the Stifler role nailed Disadvantages: Milking the franchise
Never seen an American Pie film before? Well you don't really need to for Band Camp as there is no continuation from the previous trilogy, although band camp is a phrase that has came through the ages for those followers of the franchise. If you missed them band camp is not just a place for the outcasts of the school, but is actually the place to get the best teen sex education you can. The 2005, fourth installment, of American Pie features new cast ... ...crowd. A typical American Pie beginning, but with only two characters making the cast cut it's not going to feel like your usual film. Those two who have made it to the fourth film are Mr. Levenstein (Jim's dad) and the Sherminator. Sherman, who was well known for his cheesy Terminator chat up line, is now the school guidance councillor and it is on his say so that Matt goes to band camp to make up for what he did to the band performance, or he will ...

Advantages: Packed with fun and slight romance. Disadvantages: Shame about the change in cast, but it's still great.
Here is another American pie production in the form of Steve Stiflers younger brother Matt in Band Camp.
Movie plot:
Matt hopes to one day be as great as his older brother, filming half naked women and be the most ignorant and self centered guy possible and as the Stiflers would do why not play a prank, the day of the old senoirs graduation was under way and why not take this opportunity to see that the seniors have a "memorable" last day.
After ... ...really depends on whether you like Hip hop.
This is just like all the rest of the American pie movies, just with a slight change to the cast and packed with even more obscenely funny happenings.
I give this movie an 8/10 for the story and 9/10 for humour. ...

Advantages: Carell plays his role as virgin perfectly Disadvantages: Band Camp is an awful stand alone film
What do you get when you cross AmericanPie 4 with the 40 Year Old Virgin? A very uneven boxset. These films are both classed as sex comedys, however whilst the 40 YOV achieved something AmericanPie: BandCamp is just a money spinner. Lets start at the good end...
Like a virgin, touched for the very first time. Only Madonna was singing about the emotions, and Steve Carell plays the living, breathing, 40 Year Old Virgin in this movie of the same title. Carrell, who you maybe familiar with for his appearance in Anchorman, plays Andy Stizer. Whilst Andy has tried to have sex in the past it has never gone his way, ruining situations by kicking girls with foot fetishes in the face, only to just give up. This movie follows him as his work colleagues become his friends and try to get him laid for the first time, and we follow Andy on his ...
Advantages: Well chosen cast, strong comedic performances, a greatly amusing film. Disadvantages: The humour here will not appeal to all.
Having been a huge fan of the first three AmericanPie films in the series I thought I'd give 'AmericanPiePresents: Beta House' a try when I noticed it available for rental. I was put off the series by the fairly awful direct-to-DVD 'AmericanPiePresents: BandCamp' film and decided I'd probably not watch any further films in the series. For some reason I decided to change my mind when it came to the latest slice of the pie, I tried to forget about how disappointed I had been with 'BandCamp' and rented this with renewed optimism for the series.
When 'AmericanPiePresents: Beta House' began I thought to myself I'd probably done good in avoiding the series for three years. This film appeared to be a gratuitous display of the naked female form and the humour seemed completely out of kilter with what I had seen and loved in ...
