What you get? In purchasing this product you will get approximately 106 minutes of 100% pure unseen comedy genius that you didn't see at the cinema.
Who stars in the film? The majority of the cast of American Pie 1 are back including Jason Biggs as Jim Levenstein who continues to get into difficult sexual and humiliating situations. Alyson Hannigan makes another appearance as the dorky band geek, Michelle, that Jim got with the summer previously. All Jim's mates are back including Kevin (Thomas Ian Nicholas), Oz (Chris Klein), Finch (Eddie Kaye Thomas) and of course the legendary STIFLER (Seann William Scott). Jim's dad played by Eugene Levy is back with his usual embarrassing antics and you may even get to see the return of the M.I.L.F herself, that is Stifler's mum (Jennifer Coolidge) but you will have to wait and see.
The Movie Plot The film begins with the end of college and the beginning of the summer. Jim is still 'busy' at college where he is having 'friendly' goodbye sex, which doesn't last long as he is interrupted before it has even got started by his parents soon to be followed by her parents. A great way to begin the movie, because it continues off from the first film with Jim's real bad luck when it comes to woman and sex and his dad's ongoing behaviour that puts him in such embarrassing situations. To highlight the beginning of the summer, the boys have one of their regular Stifler parties. Stifler
is on form as he makes his way around the party showing off and making fun of his guests - in particularly Sherman (AKA Shermanator), this provides great comedy, but as always Stifler comes off worse as he is soon 'pissed on' after his attempts at seducing a girl. I won't say too much otherwise it will give too much away. But in the end the cops stop the party and so putting an end to future parties at Stifler's. The boys need to come up with a plan for the summer after their parties at home had been stopped. Kevin gets the idea to rent a house on the beach and work when they get there to pay for it all. Meanwhile Jim gets a call from Nadia, who say's she is coming at the end of the summer! So Kevin, Oz, Finch, Jim and Stifler head to the beach not knowing what shocking adventurers await them. Jim visits Michelle ('band geek') to try and get some lessons from her, in order to practise for Nadia. He gets into an embarrassing situation which becomes very entertaining when he is mistaken for a talented trombonist, playing in front of an audience. The guys find an ad for work painting a house during the summer, which is actually the home belonging to two hot lesbians. Stifler wants proof of this so being the pervert that he is, goes into the house and finds a rubber dildo. The girls return and bust Stifler, Finch and Jim hiding in the cupboard (the latter who went into get him). So comes the games…..the boys want the lesbians to do stuff but this will only happen if they do first. The other two boys listen downstairs and there is a cross over of frequencies they have on their microphones that leads to everyone in the area hearing. Very Funny! Kevin spends a lot of time with ex, Vicky (Tara Reid) who he still has feelings for. Finch is practising the art of Tantra to try and impress Stifler's mum who he believes in coming to the party at the end of summer. Oz is at all opportunities trying to speak to and have phone sex with girlfriend Heather who is on an exchange trip to France but this doesn't always go to plan thanks to, guess who, yes, Stifler! The party is less than two weeks away and when Jim indulges in some private time with himself and some pornography some hugely embarrassing and hysterical situations unfold. Without giving too much away lets just say he mistakes superglue for lubricant and his dad comes to his rescue. The party and Nadia don't go entirely to plan in the end; you will just have to find out the rest for yourself….
Soundtrack In my opinion this soundtrack is the best one out of all 5 of the American Pies, with such bands and groups as, Blink 182, Green Day, American Hi-Fi, Sum 41, 3 doors Down and Alien Ant Farm to name a few.
DVD Extras Special Features include: - Featurette: The Baking of American Pie 2 - 4 commentaries with the director, writer and cast members - Outtakes and Deleted scenes - Favourite scenes, classic quotes, music video, 32 music highlights, trailer, filmographies, production notes and DVD-Rom Features
Appearance of DVD DVD is while in colour with a red boundary surrounding it. The title - 'American Pie 2' is at the top in red writing. The front picture is of the main characters in a group with Finch holding a board saying 'UNSEEN! What you didn't see at the cinema.' The back cover has a picture of Jim's dad and two clips of Stifler with different girls.
Awards? The film didn't win any Academy Awards but did win 7 other awards and was nominated for 3 others. Their wins included, MTV Movie Awards and Teen Choice Awards.
Price? The DVD brand new will now cost near to nothing as the film was brought out in 2001. I recommend you buy the film online because in the average high street shop, the price will be unnecessarily high. On Amazon and E-bay you are likely to be able to get the film for under £3 at least.
Classification? The film is of classification 15, which I think is a generous rating considering the amount of bad language, nudity and continuous relation to sex. But you won't expect anything much worse from the first film.
Conclusion American Pie 2 is up there with my favourite comedy films. For me personally, I love the immature and childish humour that can be associated with these films. The combination of all the characters, in particularly Jim, his Dad and Stifler and their relationships with each other and the tricky sexual situations they get into creates great viewing. It's definitely a movie for young adults, not suitable for younger children and not the sort of film you would watch with the family. However, a classic and hugely recommended.

Sorry for the H, but if this is to be a full DVD review, I would prefer to see a review of the extras in similar detail to the way you've reviewed the film, rather than just a list of them.
