A great film with a message that doesn't come off preachy

The movie is about a skinhead Derek Vinyard(Edward Norton), his dad was killed by a drug dealer in compton, and his views quickly turn very right-wing after that.The first scene shows Derek killing a guy trying to steal his car. The main story is the influence derek has on his younger brother danial who tries to follow in the views of Derek, his room riddled with Nazi posters and portraits of hitler.The movie kept switching from the past to the presant which is done well and the past sequences are indicated by being in black and white which I didn't like to much. I won't say much more otherwise I might ruin the film but this relly is, in my opinion, a great film.
