Advantages: Edward Norton; Dialogue; Tension; Story Disadvantages: Propaganda
on his brother's influence, titled "AmericanHistory X"; what follows is a serious of flashbacks in black and white, narrated by Danny, of his brother Derek's rise to fame as the neo-Nazi guru of the D.O.C., who used propaganda to convert frustrated youths to racism.
Sporting muscles, a shaved head, and white power tattoos, Norton is quite the sight; he is presented as the physically superior, and is sent to prison for the murder of a black teenager who tried to steal his car. During this time inside, his hair has grows, he makes friends with a black inmate, and is raped and beaten by the neo-Nazi's he once believed were part of his culture. After three years Derek is a reformed person, and quits the D.O.C. to concentrate on looking after his Mother and re-educate Danny, after realising the errors of his ways.

Advantages: Great plot, superb characters and a theme that needed to be discussed Disadvantages: violent
Well my next review again is another film that was made during the 90's. Gosh they really don't make films like they use to. I must admit ive only seen this film twice once in high school and once with my friends, and both times the film just gives you a sense of shock. The film im going to review is the 1998, critically acclaimed "AmericanHistory X", directed by Tony Kaye and Edward Norton and Edward Furlong.
Ok two quick recaps here, Edward Furlong is the guy who was John Connor in Terminator 2, however just a wee bit more older in this film, but he still looks the same. We then have Edward Norton; you might recognise him from his earlier work in Primal Fear and The People vs. Larry Flynt
I must admit this review will talk about some cruel and in some cases sadistic scenes, and for that I apologise if it causes any offence ...
Advantages: Unusual scenario, intresting subject Disadvantages: Little action.
AmericanHistory X is not another Crime/Drama film, something like "hit and run". It's story about two racist brothers Derek and Danny. All started then Derek's younger brother Danny heard a noise outside and saw two guys snooping around his brother car. Derek ran outside and unmercifully killed them. He was sent to prison for 3 years. In prison he understand that racism and some other things that he believed is pointless and bullshit. Meanwhile his younger brother is trying to do everything like his brother, Derek is his hero.
Then Derek back from prison he saw that nothing has changed. His friends, Danny still are racists. Derek mission is change his brother before it will be to late and start a new life.
I like this film because of his unusual scenario also these things are happening in real life. In this film i miss more action. In ...
