This movie is utterly brilliant. It starts amongst the mess of a 'middle aged' man. he is totally unhappy with his life. the highlight of his day is jer*ing off in the shower every day before work. Then his daughter is cheerleading and he see's the girl of his dreams. His daughter's best friend 'the typical blonde cheerleader'. From this point he tries to re-live his younger years and starts to go jogging in the neighbourhood, working out and even smokes illegal substances. Meanwhile his wife is having it off with a work colleague. The film end's with him being shot dead in cold blood by his wife. Only then does he feel content. His life flashes before his eyes and in those instances he is truly happy. Then he see's the wind blowing sweeping up the leaves in it's path, beauty he had never realised 'American Beauty'.
