The Amazon website and brand was founded in 1994 and was launched online in 1995. It started off initially as an online book shop providing an alternative to traditional offline bookshops. Since then the website has diversified to include a wide range of products including Dvd's,computer games,toys, Cd's.Mp3's, electronics etc. It is currently America's largest online retailer.
It has some separate sites for individual countries such as the Uk , Canada, France and Germany amongts others.
The Amazon website is quite well designed and easy to navigate with tabs and links on the side showing the different departments and product categories. I do all my online shopping from Amazon, mainly because it's cheap, affordable and comparable.
Amazon is basically an online 'catalogue' website of all different stuff to purchase, either brand new from Amazon and alternative sellers or 'used'.

What I love about Amazon is that it remembers my previous orders or stuff that I've recently looked at. When you register (which is really simple) you can save all your bank details and postal address so you don't have to type it in again with every purchase you make. I have selected for the website to 'remember' me, so when I log on, it says 'Welcome back Alaycia' at the top of the screen. However, for security reasons, when making a purchase, I still have to -re log in with my password, which is very good if someone uses my computer and enters ...

I have shopped with Amazon for years and they are definately the place to go for the cheapest items. Go on, Google the item you are looking for and I bet Amazon will be the cheapest. Now they have free Postage and Packaging for items over £5, I am now a regular visitor. I buy all my gifts and Christmas presents at Amazon, no nasty queues and I make a saving on the High Street price.
Once, I never recieved an item, possibly due to Royal Mail, when I informed Amazon, the item was dispatched the next day at no cost!
If you want to return an item, simply print off a slip and a courier comes and picks it up for free.
Hassle free shopping at its best. Go on give it a go! ...
