Advantages: Shaun of the dead is really good Disadvantages: Land of the dead is rubbish
...Land of the Dead
This film is quite a disappointment. The astonishingly predictable plot line isnt all that good, and shares many of the twists and general ideas with other zombie films such as dawn of the dead. As it is based on a game, there are frequent interruptions in the film to show parts of game footage, which can begin to get irritating when you're trying to watch. The characters are very stereotypical and nothing that we haven't already seen before.
Shaun of the Dead
This film is a personal favourite of mine. it combines horror, comedy and romance to produce a truly great film. From the makers of Spaced (Simon Pegg and Nick Frost), its bound to be a great comedy film, and it doesnt disappoint. the plot is quite good, the jokes are great and there are several moments of emotion. A few plot holes, but nothing thats not explained...

Advantages: Nice special effects Disadvantages: As a Night of the Living Dead 'sequel', it has some stiff competition
...This film is about the best that can be done with a sense of humour, a pile of special effects, and something good to make fun of. Pretending to be some kind of follow-up to Night of the Living Dead (a role already filled perfectly by Dawn of the Dead), this film has faster, more talkative zombies, younger, more stupid victims, and gorier, more expensive makeup. It's funny in parts, and never boring, but it hasn't any of its ancestor's atmosphere, nor any of Dawn of the Dead's intelligence. It'll pass the time well enough for anyone into this kind of film, and at least it is several times better than its own sequel, and a bit better than the (reasonable enough) third Return....

Advantages: Nice strong story. Disadvantages: The sort of film you only want to see once.
...Just a brief review of this film to give another opinion (if there were not enough already).
This is a film that has had great reviews from the pros in the papers and from the general public.
It is a story of a boy who can see dead people and gets very scared because of this. Now if you did not know this film has a big twist, then you have been on the Moon way too long, but needless to say this film is far better if you do not know the ending.
The DVD is good with a nice 1.85:1 widescreen anamorphic picture and a good Dolby Digital 5.1 sound mix. It also has quaite a few extra features.
Overall a good film if you have not already seen it but probably not worth seeing twice....
