Advantages: A classic film with cult status Disadvantages: Not many extras here.
...Highlander is one of those films that caught the audience unawares when it first came out. It had very little in the way of publicity, but the strong story and great 'presence' of the film soon spread the word that this was one movie to go and watch.
The plot is pretty simple, a Scottish warrior of the MacLeod clan in 1536 is fighting another clan and is wounded in battle. He realizes that he is different from everyone else, however, when his near fatal wounds heal up completely and it makes everyone else afraid. He meets a strange man (Connery) who explains that MacLeod is an immortal and cannot die.
It transpires that the immortals have fought each other through time and he has to train to fight to the death (which, for an immortal, means decapitation with a special sword) Refusing this, he hides out. The audience next join him...

Advantages: Excellent, enjoyable sci-fi Disadvantages: The sequels!
...Highlander is, in a way, yet another of those eighties time travel yarns, only here the travel is one way at 60 seconds per minute. We follow the adventures of a group of immortals who go around chopping off each others' heads, as you do. Apparently, "there can be only one", and while some of the immortals are friends and get along just fine, most of them seem to concentrate on killing each other, and also having a bloody good time while they're about it. All of which makes for a gripping fantasy tale told in a combination of flashbacks and mid-eighties present, in which a mortal stumbles onto hints of this strange truth and eventually gets rather more involved than she might have wished. Accompanied by a great Queen soundtrack, Highlander features fun, history, and lots of sword-fighting, as well a good story and memorable characters...

Advantages: Hilarious, same Noble we know and love, loads of extras Disadvantages: some of the bonus footage has poor sound quality
...This is Ross Noble's 3rd DVD and is continuing with the high standard of comedy we have come to expect from this comic genius.
For the same price as your average comedians DVD (one hour of comedy, giggle giggle, done!) Ross has squeezed his 2 ½ hours main feature plus 6 hours of bonus footage into these four DVDs, that's 8 ½ hours of side splitting funnies. Even the copyright is humorous
Unfortunately Ross Noble is a uniquely hilarious talent that I can not compare to any other, and so the only way to discover how much you love Noble, watch this DVD. (It's also the only way you'll find out the highest cause of owl death.)
The bonus features still show Ross Noble as we love him and although the sound quality is muffled you'll soon relax into it and find yourself laughing along with audiences in Australia, Newcastle, Scotland, stoke...
