Advantages: Fantastic comedy, great stories, fantastic cast Disadvantages: None
...Only in Ally Mcbeal would you hear people talking about computer sex, showing off face bra's and sniffing each others butts.
From writer David. E. Kelly, (Boston Legal and Chicago Hope) comes this fantastic comedy which is AllyMcBeal. Airing between 1997 to 2001, AllyMcBeal was a fantastic hit both in the states and here in the UK, (Channel 4).
Season One starts with us meeting Ally (Calista Flockhart) as a child. She sniffed the butt of a boy called Billy (Gil Bellows), which meant she liked him. Many years later the happy couple went off to law school, Ally simply following Billy there, but Billy decided to end it with Ally. So Ally completed law school on her own.
Many years later, Ally gets fired from her law firm and bumps into an old friend, Richard Fish (Greg Germann) who hires her to work as his law firm. So Ally starts work...

My new addiction Review ofAllyMcBeal - Season 1 (M-LockPackaging)by
Achtel
Advantages: sexy, sassy, absolutely crazy and shows that normal people don't really exist Disadvantages: addictive, you might abandon your idea of a stable world where everyone acts entirely reasonable
...After having watched all episodes of Sex and the City and Friends at least twice I had to find a new "addiction". I had watched a few random episodes from AllyMcBeal on TV before and quite enjoyed it so when I saw the HMV offer for the complete first season of AllyMcBeal for 9.99 I thought it was time to give it a go.
The first season has 22 episodes plus the trailer, all of which you will find on the 6 discs that make up the box set.

Advantages: whole of season in one box Disadvantages: no extras
...currently going through a stage of watching all the ally mcbeal dvds as i didnt get into it until the 4/5 season when it was first on the tv. you can pick the boxsets up for a reasonable price these days and better than paying the £40+ for todays tv show releases.
so this is the last season made and it shows that the scriptwriters were running out of things for the lawyer and her friends to do. With Ally still recovering from her split with Larry in the fourth season (due to robert downey jr leaving, shame cos they made such a cute couple) the writers decided that to fill the void in Allys life they would introduce a biological daughter that ally knew nothing about (random i know!) and also some eye candy in the form of joiner/electrician/child expert jon bon jovi.
will ally ever be truely happy? will she become partner in the firm...
