Advantages: Great film, directing, acting and plot Disadvantages: none for me!
, nor does it really give the impression that this film is as bizarre as it is clever, but I really don't want to give away too much about this film or I won't be able to persuade you all to go and watch it! The film is in many ways similar to Pedro Almodovar's other offerings, as all the main characters are women (save for Ivan and his son, though both have little screen-time), and indeed you will recognise the majority of the actresses from other Almodovar and Spanish films: Carmen Maura, who plays Pepa, has also starred in 'Pepi, Luci, Bom', 'What Have I Done To Deserve This' and 'Volver', to name a few; Maria Barranco, who plays Candela, starred in 'Atame' (Tie me up, tie me down) and 'La niña de tus ojos'; and Rossy de Palma, who is a model, and is in other Almodovar films such as 'The Law of Desire' and 'Kika'.
So, for all their ...
Advantages: Wacky, bright, colourful, entrancing Disadvantages: Not everyone will get the humour
stay well clear. However, if you're prepared to give the film a go, then I think you will find something in it to enjoy.
I really enjoyed this film - it more than met my expectations - it is funny and sensitive all in one go. The fact that it is in Spanish did not make any difference to me - I don't understand more than a few words of the language, but the subtitles were clear and easy to read, and I was able to enjoy the visuals and the sound without any difficulty. I am looking forward to my next Almodovar and hope he starts making some new ones soon. Highly recommended.
The DVD is available from play.com for £5.99.

When I went in search of this magazine on the Ciao database, looking for Women magazine so I could write my latest, I was quite shocked when I noticed it was not there. I was quite surprised that nobody had set about writing a review on it! So I decided it was time for me to share the wonders of Woman magazine...
Woman magazine can be seen from a distance on the shelf among the rest by its bright yellow title, found it italic block lettering, which is quite attractive, singling it out from many others. Underneath there are pictures and teasers about what we can find inside. The issue I have aside me is dated February 2009. There are a few hints on this particular cover that drew me in, in particular photos of Cheryl Cole, Denise Welch and Barbara Windsor.
Eager to explore, I turned the first page, only to find the contents page ...

DVD Description
An amusing, satirical Bergman farce from 1964, ALL THESE WOMEN is set in the house of womanising cellist, Felix. When a respected critic called Cornelius arrives to begin writing Felix' biography, he finds the house occupied by many women and must endure a series of humiliating situations. His dignity is stretched at being photographed in compromising positions and force to dress in women's clothes--after all this he doesn't even get to meet Felix.
