Even with their downfalls hardcore predator and alien fans will simply love them.
Ok so I brought the boxset of the two avp films - and it did cost me near on £40 at the time because avp requiem had only just been released - hopefully the price will be slightly better for you now.

Avp - From director Paul WS Anderson's comes an inspired melt of two sci-fi horrors alien and predator. An expedition heads for Antarctica after billionaire Lance Henriksen discovers a pyramid under the ice. They trigger the pyramid which then reconfigures every ten minutes and with aliens trying to eat them and predator trying to kill alien it is all very much a messy blood battle as the humans try to escape. The characters and most of the acting is appaling - but then that is not what this film is about, the characters really exist just to explain the plot and become fodder.
Avp Requiem - Directed by the brothers strauss who promised this would be much improved on the first - they don't make it - the plot stuggles - A Predator has an alien burst out of it and then it crash lands on Earth in smallville mid America. For some reason only one Predator leaves its home world to go to Earth to take on the Aliens. Hmm - thats it - the entire plot. Again with the non-existant acting . But hey I still love it - blood and gore and a new predalien.

I can't see another one on the horizon and I really do think they have done this to death now.
There are loads of bounus features with the boxset including scenes not suitable for the cinema, commentaries and making of documentaries.
These are two classic horror films which despite the lack of good acting would be a great addition to anyones home collection.

DVD Description
Two of film's most deadly monsters collide when Aliens take on Predators in ALIEN VS PREDATOR and its sequel ALIENS VS PREDATOR - REQUIEM. In ALIEN VS PREDATOR, a group of archaeologists find themselves fighting for survival when they discover a number of aliens buried in the ice. Their survival rate is hampered further by the arrival of more aliens on a training mission. In ALIENS VS PREDATOR - REQUIEM, a Predator on a homebound spacecraft has a baby alien/Predator hybrid burst from his chest, causing the ship to crash in the Colorado woods. Several facehugger specimens escape, planting eggs down the throats of a hunter and his son. The dead Predator's home planet receives a transmission of the alien outbreak, and a fellow denizen of his world is dispatched to clean up the multiplying aliens.
