I have to say, this is one of my all time favourite Disney films. I used to have it on vhs as a child and completely wore the tape out! When it was released on Special Edition dvd, and I saw it on Amazon, I couldn't resist buying it.

This was the 13th Disney Animated film to be made and was released in 1951 (This special edition dvd was released in April of 2005)
I love the animationin the film. It is classic Disney style. There are lots of wonderful colours used and lots of flowers and birds. I think that this really appeals to younger children (but also adults too!) The pictures are really captivating.

AliceinWonderland is one of those classics, which most people attempt to read at some point in their life. With good reason too, the book is excellent, brilliant for children, teenagers and adults. As individuals see it with different perspective at different points in their life it has a broad spectrum for entertaining.
Luckily the film has a similar appeal; I've watched it time and time again at different ages and have always found it to be entertaining. The film merges Aliceinwonderland with through the looking glass and so the best aspects from both stories are captured.
If you are a fan of classic Disney then it is a definite must, visually the film is stunning, the animation is beautifully done; comparable to snow white and other Walt Disney classics. The soundtrack is good, although I find that Alice's voice grates ...

It is believed that The original tale of Aliceinwonderland was told to in 1882 by Lewis Carroll to the daughter of one of his collegues Alice Liddell. This tale was eventually captured in his book written in 1865.
Almost 100 years later (1951) this magnificent story was re-created by disney into the film we see today. (although the picture quality has been improved and wasn't originally a dvd)

Alice is tired of her life of structured lessons and logic and longs for a world of chaos and backward thinking. Where the right is wrong and the wrong is right.
