Alias Series 1-5 Box Set
Review of Alias - Series 1-5 - Complete (Box Set) by  James.Egginton

Advantages: all the seasons are found together and come with a bonus disc
Disadvantages: No New DVD packaging in the UK release

...This set contains all the episodes across the entire 5 seasons of Alias. The packaging itself it quite nice as it does a good job at depicticting the work of Rambaldi, which is an important theme throughout the entire series. The main dissapoint I found with this set is that even though the box itself is well designed the individual seasons inside are exactly the same as the ones you can buy individually and so dont exactly match, unlike the same set in the US which have all the individual seasons repackaged so the entrie set matches. The quality of the actual DVDs are what you would expect for the format. Season 5 has a very good transfer, probably helped by the fact that season 5 was filmed in HD format. Season 5 does have its problems though in the fact that it is only 17 episode long compared with the usual 22 that are found... Read review

Alias Series 5
Review of Alias - Series 5 (Box Set) by  James.Egginton

Advantages: completes the Alias series
Disadvantages: Will leave you feeling somewhat dissapointed

...to get it finished. The finial episode especially suffers from this as they squueze into 45 minutes what they previously took about 3 episodes to explain in previous season and made me feel shortchanged. Also J.J Abrambs has hardly any involvement in this season and does nto even write the shows finally, which I feel is very bad. This is because he was spenind his time with Lost and MI3. For the fans, such as myself, who already own the other 4 seasons it is deffinetly worth purchasing to complete yyour set. If however you do not own any of the alias series yet I would strongly recommend you purchase the complete Alias box set (see review) as this is a lot better value for your money as this box set is 35% the cost of the complete series.... And you think YOUR family has problems?
Review of Alias: First Season Box Set by  DutchECK

Advantages: Wonderful series
Disadvantages: Scarce with the extras

...thought she was fighting, which is called SD-6. Now she is a double-agent, working for the real CIA. THE EPISODES The first series contains 22 episodes of roughly 45 minutes. These episodes are all in the 6-disc set. The first season explores Sydney as she tries to destroy the enemy, which is more difficult than she could ever imagine. Every episode of Alias is a high-adrenaline thrill ride, taking you all over the world to join Sydney in her mission to bring down SD-6. In between the missions there is time for soap-opera like developments. She learns that her father too is a double-agent and that her mother, who Sydney believed was dead, is KGB. Alias is a highly complicated series, but well worth watching. THE DVDS Each DVD contains three or four episodes of roughly 45 minutes. Some DVDs contain extra features like audio commentary, a gag... Read review
