I was a huge fan of Alias from Series 1 and after the spectacular ending of the first season, I coudn't wait for the start of the second season so I could find out what happens next! It really does pick up where the first seaso left off so I will give you q quick recap of the main things that went on it Season 1 of Alias.

Sydney Bristow was introduced to us a spy working for a company called SD-6, working for head of SD-6 named Arvin Sloane. However Sydney's world was to be turned upside-down when she discovered that her estranged father not only worked for SD-6 but that it was not part of the CIA as Sydney had been led to believe. It was enemy of the USA.

Sydney decided she couldn't work there knowing it was a bad organisation, so she joined the CIA and became a double agent. This is where she met Michael Vaughn, her CIA handler. Season1 shows the pair of them trying to sabotage SD-6 operations, using Jack to help them.

The other characters we meet are Marcus Dixon, Sydney's SD-6 partner who has no idea about the truth about SD-6, Maarhsall Flinkman, the tech guy for SD-6, Eric Weiss, another CIA operative and friend of Vaughn and Sydney. We also are introduced to Sydney's friends Will Tippin and Francie Calfo.

The main storyline is that Sydney's mother, who Sydney thought died when she was 6 is in fact very much alive. She is Irina Derevko, a Russian spy.Season One ended with Sydney seeing her mother for the first time since she was a little girl.

**Season 2**
Season 2 is just amazing. Sydney meets her mother, then later captures her, and she is held in CIA custody. Irina is played by the wonderful Lena Olin. It is interesting to watch the relationship develop between Sydney and mother. Irina's introduction also has a huge effect on the newly built relationship between Sydney and Jack.

Again, a lot of the storyline is built around the whole Rambaldi issue, but other elements are brought in. We get to see a large change in Suydney and Vaughn's parrtnership, and Will's life is totally ruined after he uncovered the truth about SD-6 in series one, and he tries to rebuild his life and deal with the fact that he knows all about Sydney's life. And a for Francie, let's just say she isn't who she appears to be anymore!

The whole world of Alias is turned upside down in Episode 13, so watch and see what happens! Once again, we are not disappointed by the ending in Alias this time, but my God I never would have guessed what happened this time!! Season 2 sees Sydney encounter betrayal, love, a new start and the reintroduction of her mother back into her life, and it makes compelling viewing!

There are 22 episodes in total, and Season 2 comes in a 6 disc boxset, with the following extras:
Making Of featurette
Blooper Reel
The Look of Alias Featurette
Making of the video Game
Deleted Scenes
Audio Commentaries

It seems to retail at around 20 pounds, what I consider to be good value for money! I would thoroughly recommend watching, especially if you enjoyed Series 1. It was a great series, and you'll want to see Season 3 after the cliffhanger at the end of Series 2!!
