Advantages: good old fashioned 80s horror Disadvantages: none
...OK - so I am a fan of horror films and will tend to watch almost any horror film available. This is a schlock horror film that was part of the genre churned out in the early '80s.
The basic story involves cute all-American girl who drops her pet alligator down the toilet and flushes it away. Meanwhile, nasty chemical firm is dumping toxis waste into the sewers. Pet alligator feeds on anything it can get its teeth into in the sewers and because of the toxins end up being a 100 ft long monster.
Alligator escapes from sewers, terrorises city so a big game hunter is bought in to kill alligator - and the rest is history.
I apologise for the synopsis being so tongue-in-cheek but that is how the film is presented. There are no famous names in the film, but the actors appearing seem to be having fun and are reasonable considering the type...

...Let me take this oportunity to tell you all about this horror-type film which i saw a while back staring Frank Ray Perilli and John Sayles.
Alligator is about this boy in Chicago who buys a baby aligator one day as a pet, which happened to be about 4 inches in size. He has the pet for a while and all is going well until the boy gets into trouble so bad that his father gets mad and takes revenge by flushing his aligator down the toilet. A few years later all is forgotten, but the alligator that was once the size of a human hand had been living down the sewer all this time and had mutated to the size of a car (36ft and over 2000 pounds in weight to be exact).
When workers on the sewer go down to do some maintenance, they don't come back and the trouble gets even worse when the aligator decides to come out of hiding in the search...

...If you saw Lake Placid and though the idea of a killer alligator was a new one, then think again. Alligator from the pen of John Sayle came some years earlier, and whilst not being the greatest horror movie out there, is infinitely superior to this mediocre modern comedy shocker.
Tongue in cheek horror abounds here as a mutant alligator goes on the rampage throughout the streets of Chicago. Some years previously a little girl was bought a pet alligator as a present - it was a yuppie fad in the US to do so, and as with many others, Ramon ends up being flushed down the toilet. People seemed to have this strange idea that baby alligators didn't grow up into hulking great man eating monsters...and when they started growing flushed them away. Well, this movie lets the alligator wreak his own revenge for the cruelty imparted upon his...
