I'M ALAN PARTRIDGE series 2 Written By PETER BAYNHAM,STEVE COOGAN and ARMANDO LANNUCCI
Stars STEVE COOGAN as ALAN PARTRIDGE.
SERIES 2 Has 6 episodes
Alan Partridge has failed at TV presenting and so he has moved onto radio his current position is ''the third best slot'' on a Norwich Radio Station.
Lets Just say ,Alan has his own style and way of saying and doing things. He doesn't think much before he says or does something either to offend someone or embarrass himself ,he is full of catch phrases and I mean you will no doubt find yourself using some of them in every day use after watching the series.
'Cash Back' 'back of the net' 'gotta laugh when you fall of a sofa' 'don't laugh.. you've broken your neck' 'ooo ya gonna have a good time'
Better not list them all ,but that is a small few
Alan really does have a bad case of foot in mouth for most of time whether its inappropriate comments to his long suffering PA lynne about how she looks or her personal life in general ...or if its just the way he talks and interacts with people he comes into contact with in day to day life ,i.e the builders working on his house ,he has no
quarms of bragging cringyly about his details of his love life which are often way exaggerated similar to the way you would imagine happens with teens at school/college who have plainly not even had a girlfriend or boyfriend before. or making fun of his builders accent thinking he is funny but being the only one who is laughing. Or coming in to the builder area when they are working away and asking if they have watched the match .. and when the builder asks 'which one?' Alan kind of tails of and mumbles ..'er..I don't know..'
Alan's friend Michael brings a lot of humor into the series,he is a somewhat odd but very likable character ,he works in the late night garage where Alan first meets him on his way home from a radio shift .. The pair make a good double act and will have you in tears along the way....tears of laughter!
Alan encounters some strange situations one in particular is when he needs to call on the advice of his PA to ask her if she has any ideas on a hidden meaning for why his girlfriend would think that it was a good idea to print a picture of HIS face onto a mug ! and as to why a picture of a cat was on the reverse of that same mug, and ,why would his girlfriend want to sell items like this ,I mean there were cushions and everything... why would she want to sell items like this in the market ..
Alan has an encounter with someone named 'DAN' ..He is sure from the off that they could be best friends ,they seem to have so much in common but could there be a hidden agenda on Dan's part?
Lynne really does add to the series she has such an expressionate face when it comes to her acting, she will have laughing so much . I think she may have played Mrs Doyle in father Ted ..Don't quote me on that I don't have time to check right now.If anyone knows feel free to leave a comment about it .
Alan has a rather unfortunate incident with a spike but as they say 'the show must go on ' so he ends up giving a how shall we put it ...'interesting' presentation whilst in a lot of pain from the accident .
Alan also gets the chance to seek revenge on an old school 'mate who once got Alan in trouble for ,what he was then accused of, at school ,and was also punished for. He was blamed and punished for 'Drawing a penis on his 'own' back' . But in fact it had been the ex class mate 'now' teacher at the school who had done it, and who had gotten away with it.So in true Alan style it doesn't quite go to plan ,timings are all out and Alan's brain does not get engaged before he acts as usual!
There so many laughs crammed into each individual episode ,so if you think you like those few silly sounding situations that I have mentioned I promise that this series is jam packed with them ,it could just be a simple line with just the way it is said or a look or something, and you will be laughing so hard it hurts.
The type of humor may not appeal to all as it can be quite crude at times and there is quite a bit of sexual innuendo but it is so silly it doesn't really offend it is more likely to make you cringe and squirm, pointing at the screen and saying 'did he really just say or do that?

Advantages: Lovely stuff - not my words michael, but the words of shakin' stevens.... Disadvantages: First series is marginally better, you'll be quoting it to people who don't have a clue what you're talking about
Advantages: Superb to see Partridge back on the screen. Brillant one liners, and the character of Alan is as usual top notch. Disadvantages: Dry storylines (but perhaps with reason). High expectations piled upon it because of it's predecessors.
