This DVD is great - All the best that Steve Coogan has to offer and more besides!

The scene is set as soon as you play the DVD the menu screen complete with alan prancing around to the theme tune of Black Beauty is a classic in itself - that is worth 5 minutes viewing alone!

The story is set with Alan Gordon Partridge now living in the Linton Travel tavern - a rather bland motel which has the convenience of being equidistant between Norwich and London. Alan's wife has left him which is why he is there are he is working for Radio Norwich on the graveyard shift!

The indroduction of his tireless PA Lynn Benfield is a stroke of genius as it shows even more how cruel Alan can be and funny at the same time!

The series starts with esisode one - A Room with An Alan - one of the highlights of this episode comes right at the beginning where we dicover that Alans car has been vandalised as the words "Cock, Piss, Partridge" had been spray painted onto the side of his car.
This episode also introduces the Travel tavern and its staff and the secret contents of the drawer in Alan's room - as well as Alan's fascination with the Commisioning Editor of Light Entertainment for the BBC Tony Hayers - the man who could give him a second series "smell my cheese".

The second episode Alan Attraction - starts with Valentines day and the sound of a cockeral being kissed!
This episode revolves around the fact that with no second series Alan with have to either downsize his car or sack his staff at Peartree Productions - hmmm??
The episode results in Alan enjoying a romantic date with one of the staff and a great moment with some chocolate mousse!

Episode Three Watership Alan revolves around Alan being in a dispute with the local farmers and his participation in a Water breaks video - having branded the farmers as simpletons and making matter worse by bringing on one of their representatives onto the show and insulting him as well - is it any wonder that at the end of the episode we find him under a dead cow!

Episode Four - basic Alan sees him dress up as a zombie to frighten the staff and dismantle his corby trouser press - Alan is bored! - The best bit is at the end of the episode when Alan and a member of staff get into trouble with the polce after trying to steal some traffic cones!

Episode Five - To Kill a Mocking Alan - is arguably the best in the series - Alan prepares for a TV show which is not on TV but in the Tavern! This is supposed to be with Sue Cook but she pulls out leaving Alan trying to impress two Irish TV makers who have come to discuss a possible deal with him.
The gem of the episode is Alans superfan ged - the whole story line is fantastic and the sight of Alan running away at the end with the cry of "mentalist" will stay with me for some time!!

the last episode - Towering Alan - sees Alan perform duties as the judge at the Swaffam Country Show - it is also the episode where Tony Hayers dies - leaving a replacement - Chris Feather - who actually likes Alan's work! A five year contract with the BBC is finally signed but not without another death and a bit of help from Alan! The series ends with Alan throwing a leaving party for the guests- who want to see what he has in his drawer!

The DVD is absolutely fantastic and can be watched time and time again - there are also some really good extra features on the DVD cut and extended scenes as well as Photos are more extras!

This is definitely one to buy and display proudly in your collection!!
