Advantages: Great family film, superb animation, very funny for adults too. Disadvantages: None
...As a family of 6, we watch alot of childrens/animated DVD's. I saw this whilst browsing the kids films and had never heard of it, but the well known and loved story of Sinbad looked appealing and the cast list was quite impressive (Brad Pitt, Catherine Zeta Jones, Michelle Pfeiffer ) and also Dreamworks animation have done some good films before, so I rented it out. It is a PG rated film.
The story got going pretty quickly and the animation was very smooth and modern looking. The story is about the main charactor Sinbad, and Eris, the evil goddess who asks (well Ok, orders!) Sinbad to steal the 'book of secrets' from a place called Syracuse. Sinbad sets off there but the prince of this place turns out to be an old friend of Sinbads.
Eris steals the book herself, she wanted to get Sinbad to go to Syracuse so that she could frame him...

...This has to be one of my favourite Disney films, an animated film, full of mystery, songs, fantasy and some comedy. Althogh i've enjoy most Disney films, and still watch them now whic my sister, because of there light hearted stories, Aladdin is one of the ones which stand out above the rest.
PLOT
Aladdin in a street rat, who steals alongside his faithful monkey Abu, meets and falls in love with Princess Jasmine, who is tired of living in the Palace and needs to marry before her next birthday. Advantages: A great story on a great disk. Disadvantages: Err, No.
...Fantasy, Adventure, Hero's, Villains and Monsters… What more could you ask for. What is it about these fantasy films, I loved them as a child and now I'm an adult (well almost) I love them still. The mythic storyline, the battle between good and evil, it's about as much adventure I could get as a child. Sitting in front of the TV wide-eyed and mesmerised, ahh those were the days of innocence.
Anyway back to the film. This was a major release in Hollywood, one of the first modern fantasy films, in superb Technicolor. The film starts with Sinbad lost at sea in a thick mist. He spies an island through the fog and when they set down to stock up on supplies, all of a sudden a man comes running towards then, chased by a giant Cyclops. After a hasty departure they find the man to be a sorcerer who was trying to steal a magic lamp from...
