Pacino's friends and associates, aims for an intimate portrait of the star of such films as "The Godfather" and "Sea of love", who has apparently spent much time at war with himself. Pacino's childhood is described, and his romances with various actresses. One of America's superstars, Al Pacino is also a complex, enigmatic personality, whose private life has been cloaked in mystery. While his performances in "The Godfather" trilogy, "Serpico", "Dog day afternoon", "Scarface", "Sea of love" and "Dick Tracy" have established him as one of the greatest actors of his time, Al Pacino reveals that he has spent most of his life at war with himself. ...I have finally watched the Godfather Triology. It comes in a boxedset, and includes five tapes of about one and a half hour per tape. I started with tape one and could not leave, or go to sleep until they were all done. Trully a wonderful film depicting Mafia family life, the dangers, the loves, the losses, and everything in between.
Watching AlPacino as michael turn from the innocent son that wanted nothing to do with the family business, to the head of the family, and the greatest of all the brothers. AlPacino did a wonderful job, and it just goes to show that the studios are not always right, directors should have the last word as to who should get what part. Originally the studios did not want Marlon Brando, and AlPacino in the film, but these two were the main characters of the whole film. They carried the films to great...

Advantages: intelligent and tense Disadvantages: none
...Insomnia is a tense, clever film that will keep you guessing. It stars AlPacino and for some daft reason I also confuse AlPacino with Robert De niro, but it is definitely AlPacino in this film I’ve just checked the box! They are very similar or is is just me!
AlPacino plays Will Dormer a jaded, seen it all and sick of it LAPD cop.Along with his partner he is sent to a remote Alaskan town to investigate a murder. Call me nit picking, but I did wonder at this, surely there are cities nearer to Alaska than L.A that can lend a couple of jaded homicide cops?
They are investigating the murder of Kay, a local teenager who has been found literally beaten to death. The town is quiet, small and unused to murders. It’s summertime and therefore in the grip of the midnight sun where the sun never sets. This destroys Dormer’s bodyclock...

...chance to get revenge on the man who - he thinks - has helped to steal his daughter away from him. At the same time, the noble lady Porsche is looking for a husband, and her father has said she may choose the one who can guess which of three boxes her portrait is hidden in. Bassanio is the one who becomes the husband, but there are some clever twists at the end, I won’t spoil it!!!
The film deftly explores the themes of love vs loyalty, law vs justice, and passion vs reason.
As per usual AlPacino is brilliant in it, playing the Jew. Alongside Pacino is McKenzie Crook (Gareth Keenan, The Office) who plays his slave. Other actors include Jeremy Irons who plays the rich Christian. The film is set in Venice and tells a story about the toil of Jews in Venice, but has some very clever twists.
The full cast are as follows:
AlPacino .... Shylock...
