...'s cheap, but then it's not very long either! The DVD contains 15 episodes (25 episodes - 5 minutes each - were made in total, and the other 10 can be found on "The Royal Visitors" DVD) and lasts 76 minutes. There are no extras on the DVD. The cover of the case is brightly coloured and appealing, but the pictures shown are not actual pictures from the series.
What I remembered most about Jimbo was the theme tune and introduction (music by Roger and Gavin Greenaway). Jimbo was created by Petter Maddocks (who also created Penny Crayon, and the Family-Ness). In the intro sequence you will see various characters (such as cows and sheep) as they sing Jimbo's name getting higher and higher until SMASH, the glass in the control tower is broken as the Chief controller (whose ginger hair and moustache is unforgettable) screams his name!

In 1987, Katsuhiro Ôtomo completed the film adaptation of his own epic manga, which comprised of several thousand pages. The Ultimate Edition DVD - consisting of the original and remastered editions of the film - would take a further 16...

...:) and other such uk animated things, the quality of akira will blow you away. The characters and backgrounds are fantastically drawn capturing the feel of the comic book amazingly. The film is also blessed with a fantastic soundtrack that reflects the feeling of the film very well, with drum beats, and harmonous voices. Beautiful. The only negative is the slightly pants voice overs, I'm sure the voice of canadea is one of the voice actors from the teenage mutant hero (we dont get ninja turtles in the uk!!!) turtles cartoon series!!!!! They are not to bad, but I would say that it's worth trying to get a subtitled version instead, just to hear the real voices. Oh and once again, this is a film worth hearing through your stereo, tv speakers can never convey the sound too well. Also if there is a dvd version get that, akira looks good on vhs, but would...
