Advantages: superb storyline
Disadvantages: the sudden change in tom's personality was hard to grasp

...When i first heard about this film being set so far back in the past i wasn't particulary interested in seeing it. But as it came nearer to the release of it on DVD, and after hearing a few rave reviews about it from friends i decided to invest in what turned out to be a very interesting dark potrayl of what one man would do to become a fake somebody just to forget about what a total cock-up his life had been. Tom Ripley kills the man he is trying to take back to USA under the orders of the mans father. He takes his identidy and the life-style he has always dreamed of. ...As a fan of the simpsons for me this was an extremely worthwile purchase .... including the classic episodes it is excellent. Brilliant quality and hilarious content i would recomend this to any simspon fan an excellent DVD !! containing four great episodes from the hit cartoon series, The Simpsons! The four episodes are The Last Temptation Of Homer, Bart After Dark, New Kid On The Block and Lisa's Rival. some really funny episodes !! blue haired marge and devilish bart !! and even if you are not a hard care smpsons fan it is still an extremely enjoyable, funny, and entertaining DVD !! if you have never seen the simpsons before ... this is a great way to be introduced to one of the beest cartoons in the world !! i would definatley reccomend this to any one thinking of purchasing this product !! ...Cast: Vin Diesel Radha Mitchell ( soap star, hmm) Cole Hauser Keith David I dont recognise most of the cast, but there are some quality performances. Particularly Vin Diesel. (strange eyes) "Vicious convict with apitite for destruction, and the eerie eyes that can guide them through the darkness". From the writers of the Fugitive, comes a tense sci-fi thriller Pitch Black. After a group Passengers become marooned on a strange, new planet, they see things arent what they seem. After a light start comes a great and realistic eclipse. This starts the tension and releases the creatures we all fear lurking in the darkness. Great special effects, although i would say that it becomes to dark at points and leaves you slightly frustrated as you cant see a thing for minutes at a time. ...This is without doubt the most exciting and satisfying film I've seen in years! The plot seen in print is almost banal- a ship crashes on a desert planet with three suns, the survivors have to adjust to the landscape and each other, then darkness falls and the monsters appear. Pilot Fry, after a moment of cowardice during the descent through the atmosphere when she almost jettisoned the passengers, takes charge of the group and enlists the help of convicted murderer Riddick to lead them through the darkness to the escape ship - he's the one with surgically enhanced eyes that can see in the dark. But it's really not that simple - every character is complex, three-dimensional, with conflicting traits so you never quite know who's good and who's bad.... Read review
